Key fob low battery warning

Anyone have this happen? Got a warning message on the center screen between the speedo and tach stating: Key fob battery low.

Can i just get a new battery and put it in or do i need to have the dealership do it and reprogram it? Hoping the first but expecting some bs.

Last week I changed the battery in my wife’s fob. It was easy to do, about 5 minutes. The battery is CR2450.

I keep a spare battery in my jeep tool pouch that came with the jeep!

As stated above, easy job. The battery lasts roughly 3-4 years. Getting 6 was exceptional.

swapped out the batteries in both fobs last weekend. was not tough.

If you need to start with a dead battery in the fob, use the fob to push the Start button

I keep a spare battery in my jeep tool pouch that came with the jeep!

I've a 2450, still in the blister pack, taped to a small, flat blade screwdriver. This combo makes field-expedient battery changes fast and easy.

From experience, I'll only use name-brand batteries in fobs; in particular, Energizer. The bulk cheapies from Amazon are set aside for my wife's Christmas decorations.
