Hi all!

I haven't been on a message board in I don't know when, but found this one and thought I would give it a try!

I just bought my first Wrangler in April.

'23 2 Door Willys.

Love it! Haven't done much in the way of mods outside of a stubby rubber antenna.

Currently looking at the 1.5" Teraflex spacer lift. I don't do much wheeling but would like to upsize tires slightly in the future.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and thank the mods for approving my request!

Welcome to the board.

Those white and black Willys do look nice, don't they?

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you’re new to Jeep and off-road. It’s a great adventure and one a lot of us love. With that said, may I offer some suggestions? First, don’t make ANY suspension or wheel/tire changes until YOU have driven several thousand miles in your you Jeep. As it sits right now your Jeep is far more capable than most drivers are. Put yourself together (1) a basic self-rescue kit and (2) a basic wilderness “survival” kit. (There are threads on here about these). Once you’ve done that, get out there and enjoy that Jeep. Go places “YOU” want to go. Drive it where and the way YOU will use it. If after a while you find yourself needing to self rescue frequently, then is the time to start adding modifications to address any issues you may be having. As I said, right now, you’ve got a very capable machine, and as you learn to drive off road and gain skills there you’ll find it easier to get into those tough spots. Remember, that any “off road” mods made to the vehicle will have trade-offs on road. There are no free lunches. The most important “mod” you can make is learning the skills you need off road. A basic self rescue kit will get you stuck if you get hung up. A basic survival kit will keep you comfy and safe if you wind up spending more time than expected out there.

There are great places in eastern Tn, and the LBL also has some decent trails. Good luck! Enjoy!

Great advice!

I'm not new to off roading, but I am brand new to off roading in a jeep. My previous experience mainly comes from ATVs and side by sides, which of course are much different animals.

All excellent suggestions. Will check out the rescue kit and survival kit.

Thanks so much! There's a place called "Old mill creek road" not all that far from me so I've been planning to go check it out.
