JScan TPMS settings

Trying to set the psi to a lower setting so I don’t get error codes when it drops below a certain psi. I thought I had it by going to TPMS-Settings and setting the Light Load front and rear to 25. Apparently it didn’t work. Any other suggestions?

The JL is hard coded at 25# so you can’t go below that but JSCAN should take the 25# setting, mine are set at 27# just make sure to be patient as it takes a few minutes for the change to take effect.

So I have my tires set at 30psi. It keeps throwing a warning telling me my pressure is too low. I set the “light load” front and rear to 25, but it stills throws the warning. Not sure if I’m doing it wrong.

JSCAN keeps a record of changes under trace and restore check there to see if changes were recorded, also i believe you cannot have an error message before setting the limits.

I’m throwing a tire pressure low code. Am I setting the Jscan correctly?

Fixed the issue. Had to set “max load” to 25. All good now.

You beat me to it, I was going to grab my cable and check but i looked at my restore settings to see I set my max as well and when I went back thru some info I had from the JSCAN folks they advised to set the max, I’m actually not sure what the min set is used for, maybe I need to shoot them a msg on FB and ask.

This is one of the reasons I stopped using JSCAN. There seems to be too many "extra" settings that one can make. This can be dangerous. I would not have known to set the TPMS Max Load setting as opposed to the Min Load setting. I've chatted with JSCAN in the past and their support is good, but they need to put together a comprehensive guide/manual covering all the settings. I know this is asking a bit much, since the app covers multiple vehicles.

@jludave you are correct, they do have somewhat of a user guide but it’s not very detailed, I have asked them lots of questions and responses are generally pretty fast but as you said it’s software that is made for multiple vehicles and not just the JL.

I think when I first adjust mine I was thinking min would be the lower threshold and max was the upper but that’s not the case as I had the same issue so when I asked they told me to set max but I never asked about the min setting.

I had been using nothing for programing and was ready to drop some coin on a new Tazer but after looking at what I wanted to do JSCAN seemed to be priced a lot better and there is no process of marry/unmarry during patches applied at the dealer causing issues if you forget to do it.

There are lots of things I have looked at in JSCAN and can’t figure out what they do but I’m dam sure not going to be the crash test dummy ?

@jludave i forgot to add that I had started having issues with my third set of TPMS sensors so I just turned the system off and use my tire gage that never breaks ?

And turning it off in JSCAN is a multi step process as one has to tick several boxes but all on the same screen, not nearly as simple as Tazer but also only 1/3 the cost but sometimes with saving $$$ comes a bit of inconvenience.

I did just send them a msg and see what I get but here’s somewhat some info from there doc file, not overly descriptive as in they don’t say that you are supposed to set max and not worry about min if you don’t own these vehicles mentioned.

Have you figured out what the light setting is for? Maybe it does not make any difference since, as I understand it, to lower the tpms threshold the max load setting only needs to be lowered?

I ended up just playing both settings and figured it out with a little trial an error. Basically set the light to 26psi so I can run my tires with less psi.
