I just wish they'd make the wheels 8 or 8.5" wide. A 7.5in wide wheel means any tire size upgrades require new wheels or very lenient tire shops.

Does anyone know why they do that? It has been a complaint forever.

Anyone else really dissatisfied with wheel options? Standard Sport S wheels look like Ford Escape plastic hubcaps. Optional Sport S wheels look like Mercedes CLA rip off wheels. I won’t even get into how ugly standard Sahara wheels are, and how the Rubicon wheels should come in satin black standard.
I agree with you 100%, and that's why the aftermarket wheels and tires sell like hotcakes. :) The only manufacturer that uses uglier factory wheels than Jeep is Toyota.

The 7.5" width accomodates up to a 12.50 width on most offroad tires I've checked. You can get 33-37" tires in 12.50 width. How big do you want to go?

They use 7.5s because they save weight, and saving weight saves fuel, and saving fuel is how they meet CAFE law and save money, and meeting CAFE law and saving money is how they sell Wranglers in 2018 for a price that some guys can afford.

I went with the Sport model with the steel wheels. I have a spare set of 20" polished alloy rims left over from the 2004 Ram that I owned and sold right before the order of the JL and I might try putting them on. The current tires on them are 275/65R20, but they are a bit skimpy on tread these days so they might be closer in size to the original 275/60R20. At this point though, I guess they could be called "turf-friendly". If I actually wanted to use them right now, they would probably be dry weather only street tires even though they used to have a tread that was a bit more "off-road friendly". :)

Jeep knows people trash the sport wheels and minivan tires they come with.

Ram bolt pattern is different. So they won't fit a Wrangler.

I had the standard Rubicon wheel powder coated satin black. And got some matching black lug nuts.
Those look fantastic. I wouldn't be surprised to see a slightly glossier version of that from the factory for a future Willy's trim package like they did with the JK.
