Did you remember to plug the soft top in near rear window(like the hard tops)

A lot of new owners forget that and the soft top latches will stay locked for safety reasons
I know you’re not talking to me but what do you mean by plugging the soft top in? Thanks

There is an electrical outlet you should have plugged in on the latch side of the tailgate area.

The JL's have an auto latch lock mechanism on the soft tops for safety.

You are able to unlatch the soft top if left unplugged however you will damage the latch springs. I do not advise unlatching if unplugged.

The soft top is also grounded to the plug which helps in the removal of the side windows...without it plugged in the windows cause tons of friction while sliding them out and will give you static shocks and can blow your ess battery fuse.

thanks, I know I do have that on my hardtop but I had no idea that a soft top had to be plugged in.

“Plug the soft top”? I’m not sure what you mean?

It's pretty normal, gets better over time. When trying to unlatch the second one, push forward on the whole crossbar of the softtop (part on top of windshield). That should get it to release.
Thank you, that’s what I figured

This is not true at all. Your soft top does not need to be plugged in anywhere as there is no rear window defroster... I have a soft top and have installed and uninstalled it a dozen times. No such thing what-so-ever. One of the most bogus things I have ever heard on here lol

It’s a shame, really..
Yes it is but you have to put up with people like that if you’re going to be on one of these forums. The TJ and the JK forum both have his type on there .
