I just installed my premium softtop for the 1st time. But now I can’t release the 2 latches under the visor to flip back the top. I can release one of the latches but the second one is still under a lot of tension and won’t unlatch. Is it because the top is brand new and needs to stretch or is there something wrong?

It's pretty normal, gets better over time. When trying to unlatch the second one, push forward on the whole crossbar of the softtop (part on top of windshield). That should get it to release.

While we are at it what’s the latch directly under the rear window in the soft top?

You mean the one to get it from Safari mode to all the way down?

I’m probably going to be purchasing a soft top in the next few weeks. I’m just wondering when loading from the back end can you just take the back window and flip it up on top of the top. How much trouble is it to load dogs or something in the back? On my JK’s I was just able to flip the back window up on top of the top of the jeep after unzipping the sides.

You've presented (2) questions so far.

(1) The two latches will be easier as your soft-top ‘wears’, gets ‘hot’, ‘stretches’. So, no worries there.

(2) The latch in the rear will allow for your soft-top to be fully reclined.

WARNING:

DO NOT attempt to FORCE your soft-top down fully if it does not budge when pulling the rear latch. Check to ensure your Left and Right mechanisms are in the UNLOCKED position first.

Once down, lock your LEFT and RIGHT mechanisms to reduce flutter while driving with you soft-top fully down.

If you need photos or video I’ll send you some.

Main thing with soft-top ownership is to never force anything or you’ll break it.

I just flip it up and throw it on top. Super easy.

Thanks, I appreciate the answer. I usually load my German Shepherds from the back and I did not want That to be a problem!
You’ll have no issue man! My 65 lb pup jumps right in using this method. I also have used it to load groceries/lawn mowers/pressure washers into the cargo area. I love how easy it is!

I’ve uninstalled my entire soft top and reinstalled my soft-top and door gutters a dozen times to get ‘naked’ so if you have any questions in the future just PM me.

Don’t force anything, ask first.

Been thinking about making a YouTube video..

I’ll do one soon haha. The current ones just say ‘do everything in reverse’ however, it would be nice to actually have it step by step on uninstall and reinstall in my opinion.

Did you remember to plug the soft top in near rear window(like the hard tops)

A lot of new owners forget that and the soft top latches will stay locked for safety reasons
