Since I'm new here, I was wondering if there are any reported issues of the infamous "death wobble" on the newer JL Wranglers? We recently purchased a '24 Jeep Wrangler Sahara V6 a couple of weeks ago and I've heard about this since it's a body-on-frame solid front axle vehicle. Is there any particular fix for it when it does happen? Does it shake the interior apart the more it happens? Have there been any reported on 24MY Wranglers?

Death Wobble can be caused by failure/wear of a number of steering components resulting in a massive harmonic vibration in the steering system.

While you can overbuild your steering system in an attempt to prevent it from ever happening, it's a hazard of the type of steering system used on solid front axle vehicles.

It is typically on Wranglers with modified suspensions or ones with worn suspension parts from rough riding over time. IMO it would be rare for you to have it happen on a stock 24 in the near future. 4,000 people die from inhaling water each year but don't let that scare you each time you drink a glass.

We plan to keep ours stock so it should be a non-issue then. And yes, I've also heard about people dying from inhaling water. Isn't it when you drink too much water when it's life threatening? I don't drink it that much anyway. I'm more of a Gatorade drinker.

stock 9 month old JL 2023 rubicon. Still working other issues, but mine shows signs of a 50,000 mile JK lifted 3 inches. Bumps at speed cause steering wheel to oscillate left right quickly for a second then goes away. My 18 with aluminum steering box did not do that.

The real DW, will shake the front end so bad, that to stop it, you must come to a complete stop. Some think that they have DW, when it is no more than a tire balance issue. This is usually a shimmy at certain road speeds.
There has been steering issues as far back as the 2018 model. The JL has a electronic assist power steering. Their has been three factory updates to help eliminate these issues including DW. The factory started installing all three updates on the assembly line, as of mid-June 2021. There has been a very few with issues since the factory install. Most of those that have had the issue, just need more caster dialed in to 6°, with adjustable lower control arms. The odd's are in your favor, that you will not have the issue. This applies to the stock Wrangler, from the factory. Modified Wranglers, is a whole different story.

You know the other day just for fun I looked up how many cemeteries there are in the United States it's something like 22,000. And then you got to thinking about all the ways that they tell us people die everyday car accidents inhaling water all of that stuff right and to me the numbers don't add up. So I looked up the average amount of deaths in the United States per day and then I divided that number by the number of cemeteries right..

The only thing I can come up with is where in the heck are all these dead people at we should be passing freaking funeral processions multiples a day like I pass cemeteries all the time yeah I don't see any burials taking place I passed funeral homes but where are all the funerals?

Going by the numbers I should be seeing a lot more and yet I don't is anybody else seeing the same thing like where are all the freaking dead people that they tell us die from all of these crazy things in the country all day everyday all year every year?

Something isn't right if you ask me I don't know what we're doing with all these dead people but the numbers just don't add up.

Well, this got dark. I'd assume the majority of people are cremated.

Both my grandparents were cremated and they still had burials though...

But for the sake of keeping the thread on topic I'm a firm believer in if you didn't die then it shouldn't be called death wobble.

Not to get political but the people you are talking about are called last minute voters.

All I know is that this has been a wakeup call for me, personally. I love the smell of water, but I need to cut back before it's too late.
Yeah, I gave up on water years ago out of fear. You eventually get used to just drinking beer instead.

Here’s a good video showing death-wobble from the driver’s seat AND under the vehicle when it’s happening. I won’t elaborate more here, as there are at least a dozen threads on DW that can be found using the site’s search engine.
