Mine has 5,600 miles and besides sporadic rattle coming from the seatbelt anchor, it does not rattle one bit.

The difference in quality between one JL and the next is really staggering.
By seatbelt anchor, do you mean the reel in the side trim panel or the console side?

this thing made hellacious noise for two years, I finally had some time off work due to covid and silenced it for good.

Its a Wrangler not a Volvo that is worth 1/3 of it purchase price in 3 years.

Only one thing comes close to a Wrangler and that is a 4Runner. We don't know what Bronco's are besides not being built on the F150 but the poor Ranger.

Raptors like most pickups are over priced, not very good off road and over priced.

Mine too is solid at 6,000 miles excepts for something with the exhaust that rattles slightly at idle at some temperatures. I’ve not tried to figure it out yet. We did some trails in Colorado this summer - it’s not just a mall crawler. It’s sen some rough roads. The lack of rattles has been a pleasant surprise.

I have owned JK and JL don't really notice any difference quality wise. Same engines etc. Both never heard rattling. I would take it back and make them fix it.

Mm. I remember shopping for a late model used 4Runner for Mrs. Heimkehr, some years ago, when our budget allowed for it. We were put off pretty quickly by how well they retained their resale value. The few clean used vehicles that came into a dealer's inventory went out just as quickly, also. I wasn't willing to toss down that much $$ on a used SUV that dealers weren't willing to negotiate on. They knew the 4Runners sold themselves, and they did.

The Missus eventually decided on a Honda CR-V, and has settled into that model pretty well. #1 was traded on #2, which our daughter inherited, thus requiring the purchase of #3, which is next to my JLU in the garage.

I was going between the 4Runner and Wrangler for months.

I started by researching resell market value and realized both vehicles hold their value, so I wasn't using this as a deciding factor.

At the end of the day, It came down to the fact that I wanted manual transmission and manual windows/locks. I couldn't get those options in the 4Runner. I didn't like the 4Runners automatic transmission, some would say it's showing it's age. Just the thought of being trapped with old mechanical components in order to achieve reliability didn't seem right. I will be interested to see if the Toyota platforms get a refresh in the coming years.

So I had it narrowed down:
4Runner: Reliable.
Wrangler: Everything else.

I went with the 2021 JLU Manual 3.6L "Billet Silver" and heritage tan seats. Delivery Est. March 2021.

I hope you find the vehicle you're looking for, It seems there's always a compromise with any vehicle.

OOOH oOO*OO OOHH STOP IT! Your such a whining baby ?& a SELLOUT! lol j/k J/L Everything is NOT ALWAYS PERFECT & peaches/cream. Your problems would make JEEP even more reliable! Just keep bugging them and harassing them. Even better get lawyers on them like the gobble gobble death wobble. Pro bono is if your not rich. Good luck with FORD! Even better join the B. S. Telsa group which makes no sense either.. HAha But to each their own. Merry Christmas & Happy New Years!:jk::captain::flag::beer::champagne:

My '09 JK has been trouble free for almost 12 years and 135k miles. Only have had 4 issues in that time - TIPM replaced at 30k, Front Axle Seals 100k, GPS Radio 100k, and Radiator 125k. Thanks to Maxcare LIfetime Warranty all have been covered.

My JL at 4k miles has spent almost as much time in the shop as my JK. We have the dreaded Auto Start/Stop malfunction issue (related to crank sensor or such). 4 attempted repairs and nothing has worked so far..........................

The locker problem is one of the reasons not to buy a Rubicon. The lockers are failing because of a sensor getting oil in them, and Jeep's response currently is to replace the axle.

Now forward to where the warranty no longer applies. Are customers expected to fork out over $3000 per axle to fix this issue themselves because the local Jeep dealer says you're out of warranty? Imagine both axles screwing up?

So why buy a Rubicon in the first place? It would certainly make me think twice about buying any Jeep / FCA product if this happened to me in the future.
Literally changed the diff fluid last week @ 25k and my lockers started working again 5 minutes after. Before the change they hadn’t worked for weeks. If the fluid change didn’t fix it I was going to trade in the Jeep. No service locker light though when they weren’t working. I’ll probably pot them now.

To date, I've replaced two radiators in two Hondas; both repairs were linked to straightforward, age-related fatigue failures in portions of their plastic construction.

May I ask about your JK's radiator replacement? Just curious to know if I've something similar to look forward to. For a third time.

There is no such thing as “the dreaded Auto Start/Stop malfunction issue”. The system does not physically exist independently of the standard equipment found on any vehicle.
