Last time I saw any stats on sales (excluding latest year which are distorted by stop-sale on all Manual Wranglers and Gladiators), something like 10 to 15% of wranglers sales were manuals. It would make sense that Jeep was asking these survey questions to see what percentage of those buyers would be open to converting to auto transmissions. If 100%, then Jeep could expect no drop in sales from the decision to kill the manual transmission. If 0% would switch, well then, Jeep would expect to immediately see a 10% to 15% drop in sales volumes... which is material. Points in between can easily be interpolated. This isn't rocket science.

Personally, I would not have bought an automatic Wrangler and I would have just opted for a used manual TJ or JK instead. It might have been a favor to me as I would be thousands of dollars richer not paying that new vehicle premium (though Bronco....). But I am one of so many more.

Obviously I recommend that Jeep make the best business decision for them, whichever way that is, so they can be successful as long into the future as possible. Would still be sad and think that it might just cement the direction of Jeep as a vehicle targeted to wealthier, older, and less mechanically passionate consumers.

They would also be looking at those that purchase auto vehicle that would switch.

The manual is (one of) the reason I still buy Jeep.

Well, My .02 cents

ANY and all surveys are spun in ways that can benefit what someone wants to hear. I discount them and 99 times out of 100 never respond.

I feel this way even on political Surveys also. And I do not participate.

The JL manual is a joke anyway. No great loss if true.
It would be better if it was connected to a decent engine. Or at the very least came with decent axle gears from the factory.

I owned a manual 3.6 JK and, even though it shifted like a tractor, it never gave me any trouble. Not sure why Jeep had to get cute with the manual on the JL.

I've owned two Jeep JLs with manuals and think they're tits. I'd keep buying JLs with manuals until my right arm no longer worked.
