Explain what exactly makes the 4xe not a good vehicle.
Well it's the worst of both worlds as far as vehicles go. You have a high maintenance gas engine and the crappiest EV system combined.
Something like over 800 lb of added weight for a whopping 21 miles of all electric range. You can't possibly think that is good can you?

I'm hoping they make a 2 door 4xe, the kids are grown up and in boosters, so I can go back to a 2 door, but don't want to give up the 4xe.

I see no reason they can't make it happen, I really don't need to tumble the seat.
Sales, with over 80% of wrangler sales being 4 door they probably can not justify pursuing 2 door 4Xe.

I ordered my 2018 JLR the FIRST day they started 2 door production (April 2018) which is crazy when you think about it. Four months into the production year before they even started making 2 doors. All for the same reason, majority of sales being 4 doors

I'm the wrong person you are asking, for me it's the best Wrangler powertrain, the vast majority of my miles is cheap electric.

You should probably drop the bullshit about 800 lbs, because the 4xe drives and handles better than the 2.0/3.6, the range is adequate for the 4xe, considering the Wrangler is a pig on gas, 20 miles for a PHEV is generally the sweet spot, it's about the same range offered by similar vehicles.

The "worst of both worlds" strangely serves up some serious performance and superior handling.

The 4xe definitely isn't a budget vehicle for sure, but it's well worth the money for people that know what they are buying, a direct substitution for the 3.6 or 2.0 it is not.

It's obvious we're just going to have to agree to disagree. Have a great day!

That's on pavement electric range, It drops as low as 10 miles off-road. But, that little shit Greta Thunberg Will give you a thumbs-up... so there is that.

Want to sell a ton of Hybrid cars ...Make them fully functional when the battery packs die or wont take a charge out of warranty. Ask all the people trying to repalce American car manfucturers battery packs that got discontinued. Unlike the Prius which all models still can get replacement batter packs regardless of year that is not the case with most others.

I drive my cars for 10-15 years. So in year 9 if batter fails then I am on hook for a 20K Battery pack? No way. If I was getting nw cars every 3-5 year then I would not have the slightes problem at all owning a 4xe.

How is that any different from me getting 5 mpg crawling in the 3.6?

Is it somehow more justifiable to burn more ⛽ crawling, but an utter sin using more ⚡ doing the same ??

Adjusted for inflation, vehicles by and large don’t cost any more than they did 30 years ago. The bigger issue is that average salaries have not kept pace. The issue remains, but ultimately it’s not all on OEMs. An example I recently saw is TFL purchased a 90s Tahoe that when adjusted for inflation would have an MSRP of over 60k. Yet new Tahoes today start at 56k.

It's a cost/benefit analysis. But if it works for you... do you. However, I would ask, If it's such a great product why the mandates to force them on lots? They should be flying off the lots and people should be lining up to order them.
Edit: Let's put it to the test and get the Federal Government and the State of California to step aside. Surely the 4xE is such a great product it will sell like hotcakes all on its own merit.
