I don’t know about your state but in mine (NC), Jeeps are selling just fine. I did notice the lots are more full but probably due to the push out before the 2025’s arrive. I’m still waiting till year end but what do you guys think of this? Is this happening in your neck of the woods?

Jeep has a 153 day supply on the lots. Sales slowed last year so it has nothing to do with the 2025 model year. It's only March, a good 6 months before the 2025 will even be a thing.

When I ordered my Jeep in November my dealer only had 4 Jeeps on the lot. I would assume because of the strike. Now they have around 50. And they built a new building and separated Jeep from the Chrysler/Dodge building.

Still a bunch of 2023s on the lot at my local jeep dealer. This, in southern California, the largest automotive market in the world.

Some dealers are giving big discounts on certain models. I think Wranglers are still selling well and I'm not seeing big discounts on them.

We just picked up a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 with a $4500 manufacture incentive and the dealer took $7200 off. This is after the recent MSRP drop of around $2000 on this model/trim. This dealer didn't add a bunch of crap on either. No dealer installed stuff. The doc fees were reasonable. OTD (including 7% tax) was $52K on a $60K vehicle.

Financing sucks right now though.

Generally speaking inventories haven't even reached pre-2020 levels yet. Do people just forget how full of cars lots were before covid?

The "New Normal" covid nonsense was never going to be permanent.

I don't think it's the vehicles so much as the interest rates. If rates were more manageable we would have a 2nd jeep already. Hopefully rates drop soon!

Well for the rate to drop that means the FED would need to drop the rate and honestly cheap money is not the answer. If rates being higher means that Americans by and large reduce their freaking ridiculous amount of credit spending then that's a good thing.

I don't think it reduces spending it just means more of what you are spending is going to the banks.

We should know something at 2PM today, but it's not looking likely that the Fed will cut rates.

I think there is Jeep and there is Jeep Wrangler, while the first may not be selling well I think the Wranglers continue to do just fine. There really are very few on the dealer lots near me.

Stage 2 of a recession is people buying products like crazy knowing that the products are worth more than the dollar. So, I’ll take this as a good sign.

You just said yourself you're not buying a second Jeep because of rates being too high do you realize the knock-on effect is that you've reduced your credit spending? You're actually in less debt because of higher rates.

I would like to think I'm more of an exception than the rule though. My wife said she's not quite ready to give up her ride but if rates were more affordable i think she would be more apt to make the change sooner. People still need cars though that doesn't change. People will also still likely be spending to the same budget they otherwise were going to but again more of the money goes to the banks is all.

That's kinda like...My wife got fat and I'm not attracted to her, so we don't make out, and we're not having any kids, so I'm saving money.
