No one buys cars dead of winter unless you NEED one, everyone gets a new car itch come spring.
I'm sure all that inventory will be gone once people can roll down windows.....
Or if you live in the South. I bought my Jeep in March of 2021, perfect time to have the top down in Florida.

i wish i would have known about ordering one and getting under msrp back when i bought mine. oh well, i did get a great deal on it. i do agree the majority of people will just buy off the lot. and im sure the salesdick tells them that they can customer order one but theyre taking a loooooong time. "you may end up having to wait like 8 or 9 months.....but we can certainly do that for you if you like...."

i see a lot of 4Xe rubicons where i live. hybrids and EVs are everywhere around here. tesla model 3 are the new civics. still a ton of them sitting on the lots though. its possible that most who were planning to get one have, like teslas. i think ive seen ONE 4Xe out on the trails, though i know some guys here do wheel them. ive seen more hemi swapped wranglers than 4Xes on the trail lol
I feel like more 392s get taken off-road than 4xe's. 4xe's are.for sure atop the "pavement princess" throne.

How did the 4xe come to live rent free in so many non owners heads?
Because the decision to build them was politically motivated in the first place. They're literally just a compliance vehicle. And not even a good one at that.

I was considering moving from my 2020 Rubicon JLU with 60K miles(most not my miles) to a 2024 4XE for 3 years on Lease to take advantage of alot more driving during that time. The Federal Credits and dealer discounts made it what I thought would be attractive. Then based on my age probably ordering what would be my forever all gas Jeep when lease was up. In that shopping across the country it is about 90% to 95% 4XE. I ended up not doing it as the price was still ridiculous IMHO for vehicles with not much more than I have now and since I wasnt buying it out felt like it was a steep price for a 36Month rental.

Also along the way I made alot of really low ball offers on 2023 Gladiator Mojave and Rubicon. There are a ton of them around lots.. $63-$65K vehicles for 44K...I wanted to be under 40K and still if I got a dealer to agree on one would probably pull the trigger.

$20,000 discounts on left over new 23s? Please share more…I’ve not seen that.

You're ignoring the fact that this isn't an industry-wide problem. All Stellantis brands bringing up the rear.

If Utah becomes number twenty the underlying reason will quickly be realized.

I "could" possibly entertain a 4XE if they offered in a 2 door but that will never happen so one less issue for me to worry about

The place where I bought my Jeep has all kinds of inventory. Loads of 2023's still on the lot including Wranglers.

The parent dealer is still trying to unload a 2022 Grand Cherokee. It's a popular configuration, Altitude whatever on the Laredo package, sunroof. They still want 44k for it.

Folks laugh at EV sales, but they don't realize there's an overall glut of higher-priced vehicles that simply aren't moving because of high prices and high interest rates.

I'm hoping they make a 2 door 4xe, the kids are grown up and in boosters, so I can go back to a 2 door, but don't want to give up the 4xe.

I see no reason they can't make it happen, I really don't need to tumble the seat.
