Born Texan here and we enjoy some Taco Bell once in a while. You must be transplanted Texan. ? Your Irish clover suggest you might be. My wife is Irish but enjoys Taco Bell.
Negatory, born and raised Texan. I ate taco hell when I was a kid. Once I joined the military and moved off for an extended time, I discovered great authentic food and don't really eat a lot of fast foods unless the kids beg for it. I'm not the "my body is a temple" kind of weirdo, I like my sausage gravy and biscuits and jalapeno bacon cheeseburgers like any normal guy. The clover pic is of four things I enjoy in life, being of irish decent, getting lucky, clovers (I even have them in my tattoos), and drinking (substitue beer with rye whiskey though). ?

We don't do much fast food either. I am the cook of the family. My kids are long gone so empty nesters here.

My Favorite food is Mexican. Not Tex Mex. My go to plate is Beef Enchiladas (Chili Con Casa) not cheese sauce Beans, Rice. I stick as many chips as I can all over plate so half of chip is moist and half crisp. Heavy hot sauce. I make my own hot sauce a lot. Very few of family will eat it cause its HOT !!! ?
Todays crop I just picked is about to be made into my Hot Sauce. I have to run to Sprouts for Habaneros now.

Mostly Irish, but I've never been there, so I don't waive that flag. I just wear my cowboy hat and boots and fly my Texas flag. And before the haters jump in, or try to make it political, you should all have some pride in where you are from, especially the USA!

Every once in awhile I'll pull into a Taco Bell and get some of those original crispy tacos, the ones with the mystery meat paste stuff. Don't know why, but I love those damn things, and it's the only thing on their menu I like. Kinda like a McRib is the only thing at McD's I like, and it ain't even BBQ, or really anything for that matter.

What's all this have to do with Jenne's nails? Not a damn thing. Except they probably make eating a taco as challenging as operating a window switch. Oh, how about operating that switch with a little taco grease on the fingers?

Hard to lock down a favorite food, I've literally traveled around the globe and had great food everywhere, I like just about every nationality or ethnic food I've tried. My family thinks my eating habbits are weird, they haven't left Texas either out of fear, no desire, or blissful ignorance lol.

I personally make a mean gumbo, either a large pot on the stove or humongous pot in the back yard on a burner. I make my own reaux and use serrano peppers along with the holy trinity because they have a great flavor and heat, so far no complaints.

Anyone getting uppity about pride in cultural heritage are forgetting the very reason America came to be and continues to exist (whatever state that may be at the present is debatable). I love America and Texas (a little more so). I am proud to have an Irish background just as I am being Texan and American, given my career history it would be hilarious for some sap to challenge my patriotism lol.

@Jjirish that sandwich heat turned you into a snotty sweaty mess of recovery yet?! :CWL:

Why so many pages? Hmmm. There's a lot of "make a grown man cry" in this thread...

(I didn't sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I did see the Stones in Pittsburgh two weeks ago...some phrases just won't go away...Mick and Keith and company are still awesome! Plus amazing at their ages!)

I hope our Thread Leader gets well soon!

42 is my guess because she is "mostly harmless". If @jlirish gets the reference I will be very impressed.

Andy
More importantly, do you even understand what you are referencing?

Friccccccc... i think you got me. Im stumped. I dont know when someone actually stumped me. I obvs should get this. I dont think its an art of war reference, or a top gun (thats a dangerous quote)..... i have referred to myself as harmless but that cant be it. Dude. Not cool.
42, the answer to "life, the universe, and everything" from the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy trilogy (a seven book trilogy, dwarfed by around 47 Xanth books in that extended trilogy). What most don't know (even fans) is...why 42?

Considering how many things have been said, implied, or politely not said, I thought it was appropriate.

But if I knew the question then "the universe will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable."

As for the 42 there are many theories. I like the John Cleese reference or 101010 binary. Been a long while since I read the books. WiKi has a great write-up

I stand by the asterisk.

Now that this thread has elvoved into John Cleese reflections, Monty Python and Faulty Towers references will soon come into play. This thread will probably never die.
