Please let me know any issues that you have experienced with the 2.0L Turbo or have read about that may be chronic with it. I am considering a new Wrangler and don’t know if I truly want this powertrain.

Test drive a 2.0 and a 3.6 to see which one you like better. Also, what is your planned use? On or off road?

I have a 3.6 in my 2014. I test drove a 2.0 today and it definitely has some pep. Mainly commuting.

No matter which one you pick, they both have their issues. I love my noisy clunky 2.0. I watch for coolant leaks, and listen for tensioner problems. I hate the fact that the fan doesn’t engage until 225F. I installed a metal coolant tank and the rpm extreme fan controller to alleviate some of my personal fears about the 2.0

You'll find plenty of issues with the 3.6 but very little with the 2.0. Many of the old heads here find it as sacrelige that a turbocharged inline 4 can be better than a naturally aspirated V6, but it seems to bear out given how little there is on them having issues.

2.0 is a better engine. This doesn't mean its an excellent engine but between 3.6 and 2.0, its better. I just went 37S on lifted rubicon and that little turbo gasser with italian heart does just fine. I do not tow mind you, but I can cruise 80mph all day long.

38k miles on 2022. Zero issues, sounds like a sewing machine but peppy when I want da POWER!
Drive both then decide. Both are great engines.

Four and a half years with the 2.0T - no issues at all. Noisy at start up, but otherwise it's been great. And it performs very well at 8000' elevation.
