Just looking for an overall improvement in sound quality. Not really expecting much of an increase in volume, but I wouldn't mind it. No plans to add any external amplification or subwoofers.

JBL Club 322F speakers in the dash.
JBL Club 622 speakers in the knee panels and soundbar.

It's about $460 for the speakers and adapters, so if you have any other suggestions try to keep the price under $500.

I've found that with the right upper dash and soundbar speakers, you can leave the factory speakers in the lower dash. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/base-system-speaker-upgrade.75015/post-1562924

If you really want to replace the lower dash speakers, there's a better way to do it. Your plan replaces the single upper and lower dash speakers with a coax speaker in each location. Instead of powering 2 speakers on the front channels, you are powering 4, which might be a little much for a non-amplified system. If it were me, I would install component speakers to stay with 2 speakers on each front channel.

Watch this video for some ideas on how to upgrade the front speakers.. I did something similar with the front upper dash and knee panels.. well worth the time and money spent.. and it allows you to install better speakers for not a ton of money.. BTW.. mine is a JLU Sport with the basic 5'' head unit that comes with a low-powered amplifier... I just connected the new speakers to it.. no amplifier... a simple budget upgrade..

Also.. I think that if you want to upgrade to different speakers you are going to need adapting connectors.. I bought them but I never used them.. if you really want to upgrade to better speakers and I will send the connectors to you.. :)

Here is what I recently did -

https://www.crutchfield.com/p_66328JLJTE/Select-Increments-JLJT-Pods.html - $139
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_20646CC654/Kicker-46CSC654.html#&gid=1&pid=1 - $77
https://terraacoustics.com/products/jeep-front-soundstage-upgrade-jl-jt - $250

The pod allows you to install a 6.5 in speaker in the sound bar without have to cut the sound bar. It's a significant improvement. I have the 7in base stereo. And the install is very easy. I'd like to do the knee panel speakers but involves taking some of the dash apart.

The terra speakers are a bit pricey but you get a component speaker vs a coaxial speaker. I added these first and it was a big improvement.

Will add this next - https://www.crutchfield.com/p_20646HS10/Kicker-46HS10.html - $370

Once the sub is added it will be more than enough for me.
