Eq is fla at default but treble up 1 dot. I have never had the radio above 21 and usually have it around 19 or maybe 20 at loudest. I haven’t been brave enough to go higher because I feel like I’m gonna blow the speakers. With tops on and windows up it sounds decent but definitely can notice distortion on some music at 21. Maybe my expectations are too high but for a 12 or 1300 dollar upgrade it is pathetic. I tried to set speed adjusted volume at lowest setting bs having it off but I thought it sounded worse so I have it off. I have tried both with wireless and wired CarPlay and I only use Apple Music which is high quality/lossless supposedly
Yeah, those settings are more than reasonable. Might just be the source material on certain tracks that's iffy. With my EQ cranked a bit higher than yours and the Speed Volume on 1, just about everything sounds clear and very loud at 26 volume, with most tracks able to handle up to 31 without appreciable distortion (above that it can be noticeable on most modern songs).

Not necessarily distortion-related, but another bad thing about upgrading the fronts to have tweeters is that it makes the lower quality of some streaming services really noticeable even compared to low-bitrate MP3s off a flash drive. Apple Music, Tidal and a few others should be much higher quality than free Pandora and Spotify, so that kind of upgrade might not be an issue for you.

I use Apple Music as my only music source. Don’t even listen to the radio

Other options are the Kicker Dart 77kick25ab that are built with the factory plug. Another option that I have done is the MB Quart JC-108 speakers. I did the full Stage 6 and ended up with an extra pair of them and swapped them into her otherwise stock 21 and it is a nice upgrade.
I’m really considering and trying to decide between the mb quart jc1-108 and the jl audio c2 350x. The jl audio are about twice as much cost wise and from what I read barely if at all will fit in the sound bar should I want to go there next. Debating on a set of those mb quarts in the upper dash and a set in the sound bar. Have you heard the Jl audio and think they are worth twice the price?

Nope. I had a set of the c2’s on the stock system before I did the full stage 6. You have to clip off a piece of each mounting tab to get it to fit. IMO the jc 108 is a great option. I only replaced the dash speakers and it really brightens up the front of the sound stage.

Thanks so much for the input. I think I’m gonna order a set for the dash to try out. Maybe if I like then replace the sound bar with them too.

I haven’t taken the cover off to inspect the dash speakers yet, but Terra acoustics does have a notice on their site that they’re refining or going to do some testing on the 2024, so I don’t know if it’s just some marketing B$ to release a different version and charge more or if they think that the uconnect 5 upgrade is enough of a difference that they need to re-engineer something
I ordered these and am anxious to get them and install They claim that no need to do anything with the rear speakers but I think my rears sound crappy, Any sugestions on a good quality replacements for the rear speakers (2021 JLUR)

Got in the MB Quarts I ordered for the dash. Got them in tonight and definitely clearer and brighter and feels like the soundstage up front came alive! It has me thinking about throwing a set in the sound bar as well. I’m happy with them as they are not too bright or shrill as some have said about a lot of the dash options such as infinity and jbl. I love infinity and jbl so no hate here. But these mb quarts feel just right

I’m parting mine out… have a set of the upper dash and rear 6x9” MBQs I’ll sell for cheap if needed. You’ll need the speaker bar mounting kit for the rears but they’ll all match. Swapping the lower dash 6.5s this weekend as well. Let me know if anyone wants them, all timber matched.
What are are you replacing them with?

I've moved to Infinity Reference stuff. I'm doing what I'd hoped not to do with the Wrangler install but it is what it is. I like the MBQ kit in principle but this kit needs more control options and my ears just have issues with a lot of the metal tweeters out there.

Normally I'd do Kappa everything like my other installs but trying to stay on the cheap here, and it is a terrible cabin for nice stereo stuff lol. The Reference fabric tweets have fixed everything and I'm just swapping the lower dash 6.5s this weekend so all the drivers will be the same timbre. Unsure what I'll find for crossovers in the MBQ pods but hopefully something that will work ok. I don't want to use the 3/4" tweeters as the dash uppers, the 3.5" References work well here and the component crossovers Infinity uses won't drive the mids on the 3.5"s I'm afraid. Lots of Crutchfield and other "sales" so... hasn't cost much to convert.

Learning experience. All the other MBQ stuff remains, happy with that part.

I'm curious, the 2024 Soundbars are different because of the LEDs and airbags and stuff but are the speakers the same sizes as the 23 Alpine upgrades. I know the dash speakers should be 3.5, but are the roll bar speakers still 3.5 and 4, or are they different as well?
