Yeah, those settings are more than reasonable. Might just be the source material on certain tracks that's iffy. With my EQ cranked a bit higher than yours and the Speed Volume on 1, just about everything sounds clear and very loud at 26 volume, with most tracks able to handle up to 31 without appreciable distortion (above that it can be noticeable on most modern songs).Eq is fla at default but treble up 1 dot. I have never had the radio above 21 and usually have it around 19 or maybe 20 at loudest. I haven’t been brave enough to go higher because I feel like I’m gonna blow the speakers. With tops on and windows up it sounds decent but definitely can notice distortion on some music at 21. Maybe my expectations are too high but for a 12 or 1300 dollar upgrade it is pathetic. I tried to set speed adjusted volume at lowest setting bs having it off but I thought it sounded worse so I have it off. I have tried both with wireless and wired CarPlay and I only use Apple Music which is high quality/lossless supposedly
Not necessarily distortion-related, but another bad thing about upgrading the fronts to have tweeters is that it makes the lower quality of some streaming services really noticeable even compared to low-bitrate MP3s off a flash drive. Apple Music, Tidal and a few others should be much higher quality than free Pandora and Spotify, so that kind of upgrade might not be an issue for you.
