We switched to travelers a couple years ago from Amica. Amica was over $4k a year just for the cars we had at that time. I think my taco and the wife’s Camry. Travelers is currently $1600 a year for 250/500/100. $500 deductible. Went up a little when we both got jeeps.

4 cars, My JL, 21 Subaru, 2020 Mirage (daughters car) and '72 Ghia. $235 a month. All $250 deductibles for comp and collision. No add Ons like rental/towing.

To keep it 100% I research insurance rates in different counties in Texas. If its substantially cheaper I will secure a PO box in that town and register my cars there. I just did this again and my insurance went down $219 per 6 month renewal.

I actually switched from USAA (long time member 20+ years) to progressive because their home + auto went way up. I gave them a chance to match what progressive was offering, but they didn’t budge. Same coverage, for two cars we are paying $515 every 6 months. Home was cut in half as well. Went from $1900 to $850 annually. Give them a call.

USAA will always have the best customer service IMO, but in these economic times, gotta cut where you can, unless you’re well off. Companies don’t care about loyalty anymore, nor should you.

I didn't really believe the shopping around thing but is true. Loyalty be damned they don't have any! Geico was reaching 2 times more than quotes.
Seriously. When I told State Farm I found a better rate, they were like "okay, bye".

It‘s unfortunate. AND I have never been in an accident (knocks on wood). You would think companies would want to make something rather than nothing, but here we are. State Farm actually had the highest rate when I was shopping around. I’m sure it’s regional dependent.

This ^ I just cut my rate in half switching from USAA to Progressive.

I check my insurance quotes every 1-2 years and always end up finding another company that has lower rates. I have gone from Progressive to Geico to USAA back to Progressive over the last 7ish years. There's 0 reason to remain loyal to any of these companies.

this massive fire in Hawaii will likely result in rates going up even more. Besides needing to show profits to their shareholders they are also required to maintain adequate reserves at all times for current and future claims.

USAA 300k/500k with 500 deductible and 0 glass deductible is $900/yr for a 22 JLU Willys and another $800/yr for our 2016 Mazda CX-5 in the greater Boston area.

When we got the Wrangler last year I gave my 2005 Liberty with 170k miles to my Uncle who lives in Daytona Beach. His liability-only coverage for that and his 90s beater Mustang cost more than our full coverage on two much newer vehicles.

With USAA in FL, and with two Jeep JLUs, we pay $1,890.66 every six months - and Wranglers are on the cheaper side (no accidents or tickets). I attribute this to all of you bass turds coming down here on vacation, and driving like crap. ?

This post actually pushed me to shop around and find a better premium. Both include towing/labor. No accidents/claims in last 5 years. With State Farm, I was enrolled in Drive Safe and Save (driving tracking app), otherwise the premium would've been +$229/6months. The Progressive premium is without any driving tracking app/discount, has better coverage, and still lower than State Farm. Seemed like a no-brainer to switch.

2024 Jeep Wrangler 2Door

State Farm (Previous)
Liability: $30,000/$60,000/$25,000
Uninsured: $30,000/$60,000/$25,000
Comprehensive: $250 deductible
Collision: $250 deductible

Premium/6months: $373

Progressive (New)
Liability: $250,000/$500,000/$100,000
Uninsured: $250,000/$500,000/$100,000
Comprehensive: $500 deductible
Collision: $500 deductible

Premium/6months: $309
Did you look at going to the higher deductibles with State Farm?

I did, but even with higher deductibles, the rate was still higher for lower coverage amounts than what I ended up getting with Progressive.
