Installing Manual Tailgate Latch

Does anybody have any experience with this? I damaged my latch and am attempting to fix myself.

I'm attempting to remove the latch. I was able release the red plastic clip that attaches to the handle mechanism, but am having trouble figuring out how the plastic yellow tab for the manual lock releases from the latch. I will post pictures after I spend my lunch break continuing to fail.

I've ordered a new latch. I was able to remove the original and confirm that a plastic clip connected the opening mechanism was damaged. I'll attempt to be more gentle in the future.

I too have this same issue...how the heck do you (or did you) disconnect that metal rode from the yellow clip.
