Call me a dinosaur. I had a hard time switching from cassettes to CDs back in the day (I still have a lot of cassettes stashed somewhere). And now (while I love my new 23 JLU) I don't have a CD player. I like to go on road trips and listen to CDs. I have Sirius, and I have Pandora, but I'd like to be able to know what I'm listening to.

Does anyone know of a CD player you can connect to your 8.4 radio like you can do with your phone and have it play through your speakers.

Most portable CD players will have a headphone jack you can plug into the AUX port.

Or, if you want to go cordless, search for a portable CD player with bluetooth, then pair the player with your jeep.

If you want the actual meta data of the music you're listening to, you aren't going to get that with an external CD player. Your best bet is to rip your CDs, which should provide all that data including album art by literally embedding them into the files, and play them off a USB stick.

If you use an iPhone you an use Itunes to rip all the CDs to a computer and put them on your phone. You will have all your albums on you all the time.

I've got a portable CD player around here somewhere. I guess I could look for a cable that would plug into both the player and the auxiliary jack on the dash. But that (CD player) would be running on batteries. I was just wondering if there was something else out there. I can't be the only one who has this issue(?).

Transfer your CD's to digital files and put them on a mini USB stick. I use mine with over 3500 songs in the center console usb port. Works great.

That might end up being my best option if I can't find a player.

I tried that, but it doesn't upload the CD songs for some reason. Am I missing something?

Any 3.5mm to 3.5mm would work.

Does your portable CD player have a power jack on the back?

Similar thought, but I keep my songs in my iPhone and access via Carplay

Mike, you'll have to rip the CD's to iTunes then upload to the iPhone. Mini USB is way easier.
