The Marco gutterball has a lot of people not taking the second storm seriously. If it shifts a bit back to the East it could be a tragedy.

Laura Is now forecast to have, potentially, 150mph sustained winds at landfall (up from about 145mph) making it a very strong Cat 4.

Lots spotted tornadoes over the local area. Business refused to close so now they are having to drive home in some really changing conditions.

Laura is now a Cat 4 and projected to be a cat 4 at landfall. “Unsurvivable” storm surge that could go 30-miles inland in some places.

there are Jeepers on this board who are in the “cone” (I’m thinking of @Chocolate Thunder among others). Stay safe. Godspeed.
Thanks man. I’m not one of those “we’ve been riding out hurricanes since Audrey in ‘57!” folks. We left town yesterday and are in San Antonio with my folks. Thanks for your concern though, we appreciate it.

I think we are at the western edge of any serious damage area so I expect our home will be fine. Pray for those in the direct path between Port Arthur and Morgan City. Wind and storm surge will be a beast.

While we have never met, I was hopeful that you evacuated. I have an ex-employee (I’m retired now) who lives essentially at the center of the cone in LA (but inland). As of yesterday, he isn’t leaving......

Reports have it at least as bad as Katrina, but winds have dropped off some since landfall. It's now a category 1. Lake Charles was reportedly underwater.

I live in southeast Texas ( Katy ) and we dodged a bullet, I had to relocate to Austin to run gas pipeline for several days as Houston which is where our main control center is was told to stay out and the building we are located n was shut down, we have assets in Orange Texas and they were hit pretty hard but most production was shut in early, the folks in LA like Lake Charles got hit really bad.

Yeah the damage in the area isn’t pretty. Did catch this though....among houses all torn apart from the wind the Jeep survived.

Am I seeing that right. Is that Jeep running a staggered tire config.

Hmmm. Didn’t even notice. But it does look like it. May be the angle or the camera
