My 2024 Rubicon that I purchased in October 2024 has over 500 miles on it now. I don’t drive it much - it’s my 4th vehicle, and I use it only for specific purposes.

While it would be a great vehicle for winter driving, I have been loath to get it all crudded up with salt and sand on winter roads, so I haven’t driven it much this winter.

This summer it’s going out to Idaho to explore a lot of the wonderful back country roads there, even if not that much rock crawling. Last year I took my 2020 JK Sport out there, and enjoyed it a lot - except for the leaking front axle seal that resulted.

Yesterday I drove it about 6 feet forward, then back 6 feet so I could get the trash bin by it and out to the street! Last year I put 7001 miles on the odometer, minus 15 miles it had when picked up new from the dealer. About 4500 of that was from a trip to Nashville and back. Since I'm retired, and don't expect to hit Nashville again, I figure on around 5000 or less most years!

We were doing 20,000 mi per year per vehicle, of which we own 2 so 40,000 mi total. However now that we have my grandkids living here full time, I don't get out nearly as much as I used to. I wouldn't be shocked if it dropped down to 25,000 to 30,000 mi per year between the two vehicles.

That being said this is Texas, so everything's further away. The round trip to drop the kids off at school this morning was 25 mi. A little bit later I have to do a couple errands and then pick the kids up, and that's going to be about 35 mi round trip. I drive to work each day is 40 mi both ways. On average each weekend we probably do about 200 mi total, on average.

Shoot, just yesterday on Sunday, we went to meet my son-in-law and his girlfriend over at a restaurant in Addison Texas for lunch. The drive there and back was 77 mi... FOR LUNCH! :CWL:
This sounds more like normal to me. Sometimes I wonder where these weirdos live that act like 100k miles is high mileage.

And the justification always seems to be "I work from home". I drive a company vehicle to and from work and my 2023 JT has 25k miles on it because I'm not a shut in nor do I only leave the house for work. If I did work from home my Jeeps would have more miles on them because I'd be stir crazy and I can take zoom meetings from an Airbnb in moab.

This looks like an awesome excursion! I'm in Tennessee, and I don't have many places near me that I can get out and do a day like that. Unless I'm in an offroad park, I have to haul a ways to get there. I love the "Relive" app.

A friend that went with our group that day introduced us to Relive. It’s cool to show people where you went that only have a two minute attention span.

In 2024, I put 20k on the Jeep (2-door) mostly for work-related/off-road and overland excursions. 62 days on the road. This year, I'm looking to dial that down a little.
