How many tops do you own?

Do you own just one top or have multiples?

Last winter I had the following.
1 JLU Soft Top
1 JLU Hard Top
1 JT Soft Top
1 JKU Soft Top
4 Jeep Tops

I have since sold the JT soft top since I as I traded off my JT for the my JLU.

I still have the JKU soft top because in the back of my mind someday I might end up with a JKU trail only rig. However I really like this JLU so I don't see myself going back to a JKU.

So now I have 3 tops, 2 JLU tops & 1 JKU top.

I purchased my wrangler used and it came with the dual top group. When I picked it up the soft top was in the back wrapped up in covering which I still use. First summer I stored the hard top sitting up on a blanket in the garage. After that I found a thread somewhere on here that described how to build your own hard top dolly, which I did. Don't have a lot of space in the garage for a hoist and didn't want to spend money on those hard top carts that help lift it off. Plus I already had all the wood for the dolly, just needed to buy some cheap carpeting and the casters for it.

So now it stands up on the dolly to the side during the summer and when the hard top goes back on I wrap the soft top in the 'bag' it came in and store it on the ground.

I had two for a short while...soft and hard. Sold the hard a couple of years ago.

I bought my 2021 Jeep Rubicon in September and this will be my first summer with her. I have been searching for the best top but can’t seem to pull the trigger on anything, so any suggestions would be great. I don’t have a garage and live in Louisiana sooooo with the weather it is necessary to have everything cemented and bolted in the ground about 10 feet down (not really but close). I am a teacher so with the summer fast approaching I have lots on my to do list to make it easier to get the most out of my newest toy.

Finally finished my hardtop storage and shelf. 2x4 and OSB cut to fit. Hardtop on HF hoist then snugged up to ceiling with cam lock straps.
Sunrider flip top on top of hardtop with ratchet strap and a couple of bungee cords.
The softop window bag and storage bag and the Freedom tops, in their carry bag, all sit on the shelf inside hardtop. It's neat and tidy and just out of the way do to the ceiling height. Working great.

I have had the standard top and this go around I have done the Premium softop. Wow what a difference. Definitely worth and price diff though I bought both on MP for the same price. Just as quiet to me or even quieter than the hardtop. Now I have to sell the extra top.

I did this product for hardtop and built the DIY hanger per their instructions. Used a HF electric hoist. Hung in garage from ceiling. I haven't yet but my plan is to place softop on hanger. Either straped on or do a platform for it to sit on.

Quadratec has these for soft tops.

I've seen pics of a 2x4 "bench" about 36" wide to hang top on and windows. Randomly online. If you're handy.

I do have DIY 2x shelving around the perimeter of my garage from ceiling that I store totes in/on. If I had an empty spot the top would easily store there.

Also if your use a soft top boot and windows storage bag it would make it easier to store. Or wrap it with cam/rachet/felcro straps or Saran Wrap style packing material.

If you have a 2 door, the twill (premium) soft top is the way to go. On the 4 door it's still fun, but you can't really open the window at speed without an annoying vibration. The hard top looks better, but you'll want a Top Lift Pro to remove and install. Unless you have a strong friend handy. Marketplace deals are usually the best way to find any top.

Thanks! It’s a 4 door. I have a shed but they have a boat and camper under them. If I needed to park under one I could move the boat to the back for short time use, it’s just not enclosed. I just don’t want to get caught out and about without something I can put on quick in our Louisiana bi-polar weather.
