Hey everyone,
I am currently awaiting work being done on a lemon 4xe that I purchased in December. I am also awaiting a decision on a repurchase. If any of you have successfully had jeep buy a vehicle back, how long did the decision take?
I have already sent a lemon letter and currently on the fence about litigation vs arbitration. I just want a decision so I can get into a new vehicle, I’m not looking to make any money, I just want the expensive vehicle that I pay for to turn on.

took me around ~6months - between October '22 and March '23. Looking at my emails and documents quickly, here is a brief timeline:
  1. XX/10/22 - I initiated the case with the FCA Customer Retention in October '22 when the issue first appeared.
  2. XX/12/22 After multiple failed attempts to repair and waiting for parts with the Jeep at the dealership for >100 days, I requested the escalation to the buyback team late Dec '22
  3. 03/01/2023 the Buyback team reached out to me asking for some documents, which I sent back Jan 16th (I was busy as my first daughter was born Jan 11 - they didn't care and kept pushing, btw)
  4. 02/03/2023 - The buyback team sent me a "partial offer" (i.e. not including all options the need to provide me based on NYS law) on Feb 3rd and, when called out on that multiple times, they produce the "full offer" on Feb 28th
  5. 03/02/2023 - I sent the signed buyback letter to the buyback team.
  6. 03/23/2023 - I returned the vehicle and received a check on hand for the full amount of the invoice (minus taxes). It wasn't easy to find a dealer willing to host the return, and be mindful that the paperwork and notary work took a few hours of my day (at least here in NY).
I feel sorry you're going through this, and I can only suggest to buy an out-of-warranty Wrangler with the money you get back, and slowly re-invest the remainder back into it to make it your liking.

That's what I'm doing and I'm much happier now than I was with my lemon at least :)

Lemon still for sale here: https://www.braddeery.com/used-Maquoketa-2023-Jeep-Wrangler+4xe-Rubicon-1C4JJXR66PW511219

My much better 2019 Sahara I got used:

Super interesting- I've never seen Auto Check, only Carfax- that between your turning it in and it reappearing on a Ford dealer's used lot, there is zero record of any work being performed. I pity the fool who doesn't look at anything other than a $30K savings!

yup - at one point it said sth along the lines of the buyback being caused by some AC/Heating issue, but all the issues and work done on my car were actually drivetrain related (4WD, ABS wheels sensors, brake booster, etc.)

I’ve said it a few times - if ā€œthe marketā€ had the same knowledge of that Jeep than I do… the price would be the value of the wheels, tires, top, rocker guards, seats, carpet… and maybe scrap value for the rest of it?

it still has the JLWForums stickers on it though, so that should increase the value, right? 🤣

One day...but my case was atypical.

Having some skill with paperwork, I had already prepared an airtight file of documentation (receipts, phone convo notes, etc.) over which I was prepared to argue when I initiated the buyback conversation with relevant personnel. After a bit of hemming and hawing, they made an offer which I accepted. I walked out with a check in hand and that was that.

This occurred pre-internet, when Jeep was owned by Chrysler and when buyback policies were possibly different. Hawaii's Lemon Law language may affect how your case proceeds. Expect to play the waiting game for at least a bit of time.
