How do you use your 2-door back seat?

I don't even know where my rear seat is.

Nobody has ever sat in my back seat.

I had it in for a couple weeks when I first got it, but noticed I just always had to flip it up for groceries or whatever, so just took it out and put it under my foosball table where it's remained.

If I need to haul people or more stuff, I just take the pickup. A couple people have been annoyed that I won't take them in the jeep because it's only a 2 seater, but such is life.

Always out, but I have the plan to build a wood base and mount the back seat on it, to use it as a "sofa" in the garage.

Out most of the summer so that i can haul turtles around, then in for winter so that i can haul people around..

Just me and the dog so it went out first day and now I have room for all my geology equipment and 2 tons of rocks that I pick up along he way

Mine started life permanently in and was used as a seat once in 2 years.

Last year we made an 8100km road trip and decided that having a secure place for bags and recovery gear was more beneficial. The seat came out, never to be returned and was replaced by a Tuffy security enclosure to which I’ve mounted a cargo basket, Rotopax (water and tools), spring clips to hold the CB antenna when/if we need to remove it temporarily and is where I’m mounting any badge of honor emblems.

Tried adding pictures but it doesn’t want to cooperate today. They are in the build thread though if interested enough.


I’m debating whether to sell my Grand Cherokee and get another 2 door as a daily driver, that one may keep the back seat in just in case.

Mine is always in, but always rolled up in the rare chance I need it.

I started with it flipped up. But one day took it out. Never went back in. Was like my little two door pick up. ???

my back seat has been out in the shed since about a week after I bought the Jeep. doubt I'll sell the Jeep, but if I do, it will have a new back seat to go with it
