What's something like this look like, as I'm having a hard time picturing it. Is this just removing the rear seats and putting a 40"x40" sheet of plywood down?

Hey 2 door owners! I'm about 90% done on the development of a seat delete platform for 2 door JLs. The only thing I've not finalized yet is the design to account for the subwoofer on equipped models and would love your input.

The platform will lay just above the stock metal grill, so there's a decent amount of air space on the sides of the platform. I'm considering a few holes above to allow additional air movement and no holes above to allow for a completely flat surface to mount things.

I don't have a 2 door myself, so I'm not sure of the implications of these two choices. No holes would certainly limit airflow and might decrease the performance by a little bit.

What do you all think?

Also, I'm going to make cabinet shelfs/hatches for the areas between the rear windows and inside of the roll bars for the 4 doors... any interest for a 2 door version?

Thanks for your feedback!
We have a 2-door JL with a soft top so would not be interested in your product. In any case we find the stock speakers adequate, Good luck.

I did a seat delete in mine, made the subfloor from 1/2” ply drilled holes then covered the ply in automotive carpet, no sound difference, sub woofer still has things bouncing around if you need it to

I frequently cover the sub with boxes and bag and honestly I don't hear that much difference. albeit I listen to low bass music and I have -4 bass in the EQ setting.

the debris issue is certainly a thing but turning the bass all the way up and vacuum it for 30 seconds clean out all the sand and stone.
I found that if I put something over the sub it actually helps it hit a little harder. I vote no holes.

This is what the 4 door looks like. The 2 door will be fairly similar, but without the front hatch section.

Let me answer two ways: 1: from my DIY loving perspective and 2: From Pareto Offroad's Chief Marking Officer perspective (joking, that's me and I'm obviously not a great marketer).

1, from the DIYer in me: Yeah, pretty much. The platform isn't exactly a single flat sheet, there are areas underneath that are raised to account for the non-flat JL interior and areas where it needs extra reinforcement. It's not something that's hard to DIY if you have the skills, space, time, tools, and patience. If you're picky on fit and appearance, it'll take several iterations as there's always things you'll learn that you would have never known without finding the mistake after you're done (for the third time). Be sure to use an exterior grade plywood. Baltic Birch is best, but buy it from a distributor as Home Depot wood is trash. But the best stainless hardware you can find. McMaster-Carr is a good source for that.

2, CMO perspective: A lot of design and experience goes into making each platform. Vertical supports and reinforcements are needed to make a platform that performs well and lasts. Considering the design, top quality materials, and convenience, we think this platform is a great value and priced very competitively.

Joking side, I know buying a platform isn't the best solution for everyone. I always encourage people to DIY, but that's just not for everyone.

To those considering DIY - BUY THIS. With all the time and effort and money spent: purchasing, researching, templating, finishing, testing, tweaking... I'd have opted for this version in a heartbeat if it were available.

@Pareto Offroad thanks. My question wasn't a weighted question, meaning I didn't mean you're offering a product that is easy to make DIY, but wanted to make sure I understood what it was. I already have a drawer system installed, but considered a "platform" at one point, so if I were to go a different route in the future I wanted to know what it was you were promoting.

I use very high quality exterior Baltic Birch ply and then completely spray all surfaces with a very high quality professional Bedliner. I don't want to say water PROOF, but man it's pretty close.

If you'd like to get in early on the PREORDER for the JL 2 door platform, you can go here:
https://paretooffroad.com/products/seat-delete-platform-for-jeep-wrangler-2-door-jl-2018-2024

If you use coupon code JL2DOOR-275-OFF, you'll get $275 off for a final price of $400. This is a limited code and only 5 uses will be available.

Oh, ok. Even if you were asking that I wouldn't be offended as I think it's a very valid question. ?

How many (if any) storage compartments does the 2 door version you are designing have ? Just curious. Thanks!

The factory sub version will have none, just a flat surface (the sub is where the hatch would be. For the non sub version, there will be one hatch in the rear (driver or passenger options).

there’s not enough of an overhang into the foot well to allow for a hatch in the front.

I vote no holes. I have a tray liner covering mine and it's a non issue, at least for me.

Yeah, I seem to be hearing a lot more "no hole" requests than holes... so I'm thinking the sub version will be coming with no holes.

Well done! I really like the carpet look. Eventually, I'd like to offer custom fit carpet options, potentially with snaps to keep it from sliding around.

I also like your seat bar hold downs. I'll have a bar with a welded nut on one side. It'll slip under the bars and a single bolt will drop down and when tightened, will hold the surface tight against the bars.

Could a hatch door be placed over the subwoofer?
