Hi everyone - we took delivery of a new '25 JL 2-door Willys in '41 with 35" tires on Friday. No kids, so we are considering leaving the rear bench seat folded, essentially to create a shelf to stow items from either the front seat reaching back, or loading it from the rear.

I've been all over the internet trying to find a Weathertech or Husky-type rubber rear seat protector for the back of the Wrangler's 2-door bench carpet area. No luck in our searches, so hopeful someone here could point us in the right direction.

Thanks for the help! Snagged a picture from another thread to show the exact area we'd like to cover with something that can be wiped and easy cleaned or removed / hosed off.

I doubt something like that exists simply because most people remove the rear seat entirely if it's just going to be folded.

It's really easy to do and requires no tools.

To protect the seat when it's outside of the Jeep, find an appropriately sized Christmas Tree Storage Bag.

I also doubt that something like that exists. Most people wouldn't leave the seat in a folded position like that, for they're either using the seat or removed it.

If you want to keep the seat in, you could buy nearly any rubber mat and cut it to size. Anything for a stable, garage, or gym should be more than durable / easy to clean. If you really just want a shelf for cheap, a wire shelf from HD or Lowes fits back there pretty well and comes with a built-in lip to keep things on the shelf.

No kids here either. We removed the seat as soon as we got our Jeep home from the dealership, put it in a Christmas tree bag and stowed it in the garage. That was in 2021, and I haven't moved it since. Nice having that extra cargo space, especially in a 2-door. However, if you want to leave it installed, you could just cover it with one of those cheap moving blankets from Harbor Freight.

The seat won't stay in that position without some fastening/strapping/tying it in place. You may end up essentially building a shelf to cover it which will rob you of the space under it you would have without the seat.

Hadn't thought about the Xmas tree bag idea. That's cleaver for long term storage.

Curious how you got it to lay down like that.
Mine does that, too. First step of the tumble. Sometimes I'll place my back windows on them, then flip the whole seat forward and the windows are help nicely (nicely enough for me) between the front and back seats

Yeah, it works great for seat storage & just pop the backseat out and then you'll ask yourself why you didnt do it sooner. Weir everywhere man @North Bound Train
