Just unplug the fresh air connector. Unless you’re really want to use that feature. I’m in Deep South Texas and NEVER use the vent, always max recirc AC. Unplugged mine to keep it from doing this dumb warm air thing and never looked back.
I tried this, and the fresh air vent stayed partially open, all the time. So, it was always dumping half fresh and half recirculation. I gave up.
It really doesn't bother me much, anymore. That's because my daughter drives my Wrangler now, and I get to drive my 2006 Dodge 2500 4x4 Cummins again.

I keep mine on recirc constantly, set for 68 F. It’s so damn hot and humid down here that ANY air blowing on me feels good.

I‘ve never noticed hot air suddenly blowing in the cabin, but it will occasionally turn off recirc. The air is still cold.

bummer. Maybe yours was a different issue. I did mine while the jeep was on and recently started to make sure it was shut before I unplugged it.

It’s not hard to get to, right behind the glovebox it’s the connector that you can see on the left side. I can get a pic if you want.
Yes, if you don't mind, please post a picture so everyone knows where to find this. My AC is ice cold but that could change I would like to know where it is too. Thank you, my friend.

I tried unplugging the fresh air connector and the door drifted open. We were going to WV and it was 19 degrees. Wife was driving and I was freezing so pulled the glove box out while going down the road and reconnected. Been living with this stupid AC strategy ever since.

it’s a small 5 wire plug on the left side of this plastic grid/mesh. Connected at the bottom.

I tried this, and other ways, and the darn thing has a mind of it's own, and immediately went into half open mode. It really pissed me off at the time. Not so much anymore. I just chalked it up to another "Jeep Thang".
Maybe I will try it again. It's had a couple of updated re-flashes since I've last tried this.

What would you consider to be normal, everyday, operating temperatures: oil, coolant, transmission?

thankfully I have not had any issues after unplugging it. With the daily highs touching 110° almost every day I can’t afford for this thing to be injecting warm air into the cab.

The hot air definitely comes from under the dashboard mainly by the glove box area on the passenger side. The AC blows cold the entire time. Just a 30 second gush of hot engine and tire air. And only when driving on the highway longer than a hour. It happened religiously on the hour every hour on our road trip. Super annoying.

Mine stays on till I turn it off
This is what I found.
If I have it in defrost or defog the recirc will turn off after 5 minutes.
All other settings recirc will stay on until I turn it off. Even if i turn the jeep off and back on.
when I asked dealer about this they tried to tell me there was a moisture sensor turning it off! lol
