Lots of bad advice and misconceptions in here.

The Mopar lift is usually much higher than 2". And as such it does not address the things that it should. The control arms that come with it are fixed and will not provide enough caster, as they were designed to correct caster at 2", and the Mopar kit lifts more than 3". It also does not correct the axle location with a track bar, or adjust it at all.

The AEV kit is fairly similar to the Mopar kit, but comes in much closer to advertised height, so angles are not changed as much as the Mopar kit. The main difference is that the AEV kit uses a new bracket to correct the control arms. This will give you a much better feeling on the road than the Mopar kit. Many people avoid this as it reduces your clearance, but I don't think that is going to be a deal breaker for you. It also raises the rear track bar mount on the axle which will feel better.

Lastly a spacer kit would not be a bad idea for you either. But you will need to get over whatever preconceived hangups you have about them first.

Yes, there are a lot of misconceptions. A big one is how much lift a Mopar kit provides. Yes, well over 3” on a Sport or Sahara. The OP has a 4 door Rubicon, so 2.5” is probably where his will be.

Past evidence shows that even Rubicons end up with 3" many times. The springs don't seem consistent at all.

I agree on that. Acrually I think all of the Mopar kits have the same springs.

I like the track bar relocation brackets on the AEV. I have no idea who makes their shocks. Mopar has Fox. Flip a coin, either will do for what the OP wants.

Do you know what size tires you plan on running? That’s gonna be a big part of how much you ultimately want to lift it.

The highest I would go without changing lower control arms is maybe 1.5” to 2”. After that your going to want some new LCAs or at least some brackets to correct geometry. You are also gonna want some track bars once you cross that 2.5” line imo. You don’t really have to mess with steering and driveshafts till you get to more extreme lifts (3.5”+), especially with your use case.

To echo what some have said already, if all you want to do is throw some 35s on then honestly something like a 1.5” spacer would be perfect. If you don’t want to go with that, though, then I’d recommend a Rock Krawler kit. I’ve had a great experience with mine.

I believe AEV uses Bilstein 5100s for most of their kits. At least for some of the lower end ones.

Going to run 37x 12.5 tires.
Just can’t really decide what’s better, Mopar or AEV

Any consideration towards Rock Krawler? I have the 2.5” Flex no limits lift with the Rock Krawler TT shocks. I have done light to moderate off-roading and really appreciate the extra flex.

On road handling is great and off-road it provides lots of flex. The height will be as advertised.

The install is very straight forward. You will need to clearance the front axle LCA mounts. Easily done with a hole saw. You will also need to remove the brake line brackets that attach the front brake line to the front LCA’s. I did this with a Dremel and vice grips. Bump stops were not included in the kit, but I don’t need them with the XR. I did add wheel spacers because a had a slight rub on the front control arms . Minor maintenance will be required as far as greasing the joints occasionally.

Rancho 2” sport lift with their 9000 adjustable shocks and Geo correction brackets. Add their front and rear adjustable track bars too.

I thought Mopar lift is only 2 inches
The Mopar lift will give you 2 1/2 to 3".
I have had a JLUR 3.6 with a Mopar lift and 37s (top picture) and now a JLUR 3.6ET with the TeraFlex ST2 with 37s (bottom picture). Both are great. Between the two I like the TeraFlex more.

I wish I would have measured them because I think that they ended up being almost identical in lift height.
The top one looks higher if you see where the rock rails and bumpers are in relation to the tires.

Look up Wibornz that couple have gone everywhere using the Rancho lift and should be sponsored or at least test Rancho's stuff.
Here's a post about it " I would tell you there is no reason to spend huge money on a lift . The Rancho lift is $750 the last time I looked and has adjustable shocks. I have 63,000 miles on the lift and wheel it all over the place. Note I do run 37s, but it would still look good with 35s. It is a 2 in lift. Rides great and flex’s great. "
