High Idle?

Hello. On the VW TDIs I never found a way but on my F350 and 2500HD Ram there were ways to put the engine in a high idle state. I've yet to find one on the JLU. Anyone smarter than me on how?

Ahh that’s right, it’s not functioning currently. People were having issues with the idle getting stuck, right?

Just DL'd 11.4.4 and no winch mode on the diesel...

JSCAN - but I don't have a diesel to try it with. It works on my JT 3.6 gasser. Obviously you need the bypass cable. I put my phone in the holder, connect JSCAN and can choose my idle speed for winching or jump-starting another vehicle (always up the idle if you use it to jump another vehicle)

Not sure what version but it was there when I installed it 13 months ago. Also there when I put one in hers 2 years ago.

So the consensus seems to be no? That is a bummer. Simple software thing by Jeep to use the cruise buttons to increase the idle for times of need.

I remember reading that folks were getting their engine “stuck” at high idle after an update to the Tazer. Zauto disabled the feature because until the issue was fixed. Sounds like you got lucky with yours.

I don’t believe that they were “stuck” but the button sequence to turn it off was not intuitive. Never had an issue turning it off on the few times I turned it on.

Could be, but the current firmware doesn’t have it as an option so there may have been an issue.

I would compare it the fact that FCA disabled Bluetooth on the 730N that was in my 09. You could go to the engineering menu and easily enable it but FCA probably didn’t want to hear concerns from service departments that people couldn’t hear their Bluetooth calls with the top down…..
