Help! Coolant bottle empty again!

Might be worth taking a look to see if you have a coolant hose up against the catalytic converter like a couple of us 2.0 owners have found. Link here:

If you're losing coolant, it's either getting pushed to another part of the engine (head gasket or cracked block) or it's leaking out of the engine to the outside. Not many places it can go.

Check the oil and check the coolant. How do they look? Any signs of coolant in the oil and vice versa? Post pictures here. You said no leaks but are you sure? Have you crawled underneath and looked for any drips or evaporated white spots in the engine compartment? It is possible that the leak is slow enough and near a hot part of the engine that the coolant gets evaporated before it can accumulate under the engine.

There is a TSB for your engine, but for an earlier year - not sure if it extends to the '21:

I'm guessing you'll need to take it into the shop to get it diagnosed and fixed. Could just be the TSB fix, water pump may be going bad, leak around the thermostat, or deeper engine issues but checking the steps above may start pointing you in the right direction.

I would rent or buy a pressure tester and pressurize the cooling system in day time and see if you can trace any leaks ! And the cheapest fix would be a factory (oem) mopar coolant tank cap. It may be bad and releasing steam

check under your passenger side behind the glove compartment see if you have anything leaking from the heater hoses. Check the carpet as well for any moisture

keep an eye on your temp gauge. While driving at normal operating temp. Turn on the heater to max. If your gauge fluctuate. You may have a leak somewhere. Maybe that is

2.0 turbo ? Check the coolant lines to the turbo as well trace the cooling lines ! Don’t rush Also do this after you have shot off the engine. And stay safe

Is the 2l engine overflow tank held together by glue? We had a 2014 Cherokee that would leak at full temperature. Passed pressure test when cold.

Was it full when you bought it? If not, maybe it was already so low that when you added coolant it all got sucked into the radiator which would be normal. If you fill it again does it empty again?

I am on the same boat as OP. 2019 2.0L Turbo JL 4D with black plastic reservoir. On my third refill in 2 weeks. Mostly garage kept and only take out for spin when I need to get out the house. No leaks that I am aware of. Seems to be design flaw or the functionality of how its supposed to operate has changed. Anyone else please help else Im probably going to end up selling this thing and getting tesla.

Sorry for your troubles and not trying to throw shade, but if you were cross shopping a Jeep and a Tesla to fit your needs, the Jeep was definitely the wrong choice.

Agree with this. At this point we're all guessing. It will either be a cheap fix or an expensive fix. The mechanic will let you know. Guessing right won't change the price.

I added about a pint of coolant to the black coolant container this morning. Drove about 40 miles. Just checked it its almost empty. No leaks anywhere. Checked underneath. What is happening?

If you are 100% positive there are no leaks anywhere. Then it has to be going somewhere and the only other possibility is a head gasket. what I would do is go on Amazon and buy a combustion leak detector for like 20 bucks. You will put this device on your radiator with the cap off. Let it run for 10 minutes and then check it and it will tell you if there are any exhaust fumes inside your radiator which means leaking head gasket.

For $20 get this kit from Amazon, it will at least let you know if it is your head gasket. If this test is positive-- it will need a major engine repair. If you bought it from a dealer, take it back and have them diagnose it. If you bought it from an individual take it to an authorized dealer and pay the money to have it diagnosed. (A reputable dealer if that’s a thing in your area)
