Jeep recommends every 20,000 to replace the cabin filter. This summer I drove a lot with the top off and thought 'I bet the filter needs changed' so at 15k I replaced it, just...wow....couldn't believe how dirty it was. If you haven't changed yours, you may want to consider it :)

I've been changing mine every 10K. Even at that early of an interval mine looks closer to what yours looked like - obviously dirty with lots of goodies stuffed between the pleats. Here in Arkansas, there always seem to be plenty of stuff in the air to filter out.

I did a 500 mile overlanding trip last summer that entail following other Jeeps on dirt roads and trail. My air cabin filter was filthy at 12,0000 miles….

I'm just a cloud of dust going down the road. These roads out here are mostly caliche and it coats everything a off white color. I'm in an out of the truck a lot and the cabins gets full of dust. We keep them cabin filters swapped out, they shut down AC performance pretty fast. We love our AC out here.

I check mine every 6 months and will change it at 6 months or 12 months depending on condition. It really loads up with dirt and other stuff during the Spring and Summer seasons.

I change mine around every 15k and it looks just as gross as yours. I'm always surprised that the cabin filter is super dirty but somehow the engine air filter doesn't look all that bad.

Living in dusty Arizona, we change both of ours, and the engine air filter, once a year.
