From the looks of it, I'd assume you'd close the garage and slightly swing the hoist over towards the jeep when lowering to remove the top? ...Then as it raises you let it swing over and away from the garage door rail? or do you just pull up real close to the wall?
Just have to pull the Jeep closer to the wall. The only thing we park next to it is the golf cart, so in the pic it’s probably 5’ off the far wall.

Cheapest way is 4 eye-bolts and two thick ratchet straps. The JL top is way lighter than the JK, so only a few inches and it's out of the way.

10/10, this is what I did. Cost less than $40, easy to install. Kind of a pain to use, but only cause I personally despise ratchet straps. I can remove the whole top myself in ~20 minutes.

I adjusted this one slightly by attaching 2x4s to the ceiling (so I could attach them to multiple beams) and then attaching the eye-bolts to the 2x4s.

I also run the Harken system. Works very well. As others have said, you only need to lift the top a few inches to pull out from under. If you don't have much height in the garage, you can back in to remove the top, lift the few inches, then pull in forward to park with the hood under the top.
