Bought at Performance Delaware....brought to Bob Caldwell because its closer.
@kylefischbach I bought mine at Bob Caldwell and have the same issue. Just got it back from Bob Caldwell May 2nd (they had it two weeks)...added some sealant and that seemed to of helped a little. When I had it in the first time they said it was just a Jeep. When I picked it up on the 2nd, they gave me the same story about driving another one on the lot and it sounding the same too. Said the Chrysler guy had been there but didn't tell me what he said about it. Let me know if you find a dealer in the Cbus area that figures this out.

I’ve had my Jeep at the dealer twice for wind noise and they just say it is like all the rest and there is nothing they can do. It really is a shame because I really love my JL but the wind noise is driving me crazy. I just hope someone from Jeep comes up with a fix. My concern is that if they do, I don’t think anyone will reach out to me because the dealer says it’s a Jeep thing so they have moved on.

Finally got my JLU to the dealer. Service advisor said “Tech said it’s the loudest Jeep he’s driven.” Went on to say it’s definitely louder than it should be and they need to take a look.

Said they’re slammed this week, but he wants me to drop it off first thing Monday so they can spend a full day or two troubleshooting.

More to follow next week...

That is great news. Finally someone acknowledging that there is a problem. I hope they figure it out!

Same for me. Did you ever figure it out?
Nope, it comes and goes. Kind of annoyed at the fact that it started happening after I removed the freedom tops for the first time.

Going to bring that up to the service department next oil change. That and yellowing grill and the trans hesitation lol.

Hopefully they will find a fix. It was my understanding FCA was aware of the issue and was working on a fix. @JeepCares was requesting JL owners contact them to assist dealerships in a fix. Here's a link to some internal Jeep information which was posted earlier.

I would show it to the dealership if they claim it's "normal". I haven't ordered mine yet and honestly how they end up treating you may decide if I order at all. Keep us posted.

Hey guys, I just wanted to give an update on my situation. JeepCares reached out to me and put me in contact with someone at Chrysler. I did not think that I would have to reach out to them after the dealer attempted the second repair. They called in a glass guy and he put a bead of caulk on the inside of the windshield.

We will see how well this situation is resolved first.
I had a similar situation with my dealer, but no bead of caulk. How annoying!

My Jeep is currently in the shop. It’s been there a week and a half now, and still no update. I went in a few days ago and asked how progress was going on diagnosing the issue, service man just told me they were still trying to figure out where the wind noise was coming from. I saw they had partially taped some of the seams, probably trying to pinpoint the source. I wonder if Jeep has any idea what is the root of the cause or not.

One of the service specialists tried to calm my nerves, saying they had had another JL in the shop for the same issue, and in that case there was a seal underneath the windshield that they replaced and it sounded perfect. I would have thought that if there was one seal that was a common denominator on wind noise complaints, Jeep would issue a recall, or at the least, mass manufacture the new seal to solve the problem.

Luckily this thread helps with my moral support, I know I’m not crazy.

Mine was in service for a week with the excessive wind noise being one of several issues. They agreed it was "very loud crosswind sound" and they worked to identify the source, taping off areas, etc but couldn't resolve or improve it.

They also drove some of the JL's on their lot and said 2 were about the same as mine and one was worse. They really don't know what else to do as it stands now. I don't have a problem with the dealership or the service dept because I do think they gave it their best shot and did all they could to try to correct it.

The noise may not be a problem for some or even most but it is tiring and wears on me on a long drive to the point that I avoid taking it over to AR now, about a 4 hour drive each way and drive my truck instead. (which is a shame since we've got about 90 acres to play on over there)

Just took delivery of my 2dr Rubicon and happy to report no issues with the hardtop (as I breathe a sigh of relief).
I wish I could say the same. The dealer had mine for 10 days, and I still feel the "cross wind" noise is excessive! I hope Jeep comes out with something to fix it. I reached out the @JeepCares yesterday, I haven't heard anything yet. I went as far as taping everything off. Still not better. It's fine for local driving, but at 70 on long trips it's silly!

You taped off everything except the front doors... and you still hear the noise... this tells me it's the door seals.

I can drive mine up to about 40mph before the wind noise kicks in... faster you go, the louder it gets.
