I'm afraid that's what I'm going to hear, but I also have been in touch with JeepCares Rep who has been following up on this issue and she insisted that I take the issue with the dealer first so going to give it a whirl.
What issues are you having again? I know wind noise but which kind..?

Pretty must same as many reported here. Lot of wind buffering noise, similar to driving with the moonroof or window slightly open and it gets worse as the speed increases. I'm hoping its some headliner/door/windshield seal or alignment issue.

OK, that's what I thought, I saw something about that same thing in the manual the other day. Have you seen that yet?

Jasmine.
First of all thank you for coming to this site and all your help.
Would you know from any other source (forums) if this hardtop noise a widespread issue or just some remote cases ? Has the factory been made aware of this ?
I have a 2dr hardtop Rubicon on order and I'm getting kinda scared.

Oh don’t worry, 2drs won’t be available before June 2021 apparently, so relax ;)

Headliners were no help whatsoever. Every one I test drove had the noise. With or without headliner made no difference. It is something else altogether. I purchased one and cannot get appointment until April 4 for try two to try to fix.
I just had my second appointment with the dealer regarding the excessive wind noise coming from the hardtop and the dealer said all of the JL’s are that way and there is nothing they can do. They said the best we can hope for us if we all keep pressure on them they will have to finally do something about it.

When I test drove my first Rubicon in January, it had a lot of wind noise. Made me think I wouldn't get one. But I like Jeeps so I thought I could use sound dampener or something to help it.

Just bought a Rubicon and it doesn't have much wind noise at all.

I got lucky.

I got exactly the same answer from my appointment today, but the service rep told me I still did the right thing by booking an appointment because he said FCA does address the issue with a TSB if enough people come forward. Until then, I do want to minimize the sound with some aftermarket headliners.

For those experiencing the buffeting effect, does this mean outside air is leaking past the seals into the cabin? Could it also be caused by turbulence on the outside of the vehicle? Could it be related to the fender vents? Maybe under certain conditions the vents cause a buffeting noise throughout the body.

One diagnostic method mentioned earlier is to use paper strips along the perimeter of the windshield seal. One could also tape strips of paper or string in various areas to help find the area that might be leaking into the cabin.

How about testing for buffeting effect when using various vent settings. Outside vs recirculating air while using different air flow vent locations?

I didn't notice any wind noise when i test drove and actually thought it was remarkably quite but I've been driving the S2000 with the top down for 10 years so it's all perspective.

I think I’m going to just buy two earplugs better yet, maybe they should add that option in the build.;)
