That's the first time I've heard of any Jeep making that noise on the new JLs

You got to be kidding.. l sure hope are. Hope those reading your post do not take your advice.
I’m not saying leave it as a permanent solution; spread a little on to see if the squealing noise goes away or changes frequency. This way you will know where the leak is located.

Did you read what I said? You’re not treating the seal you’re just locating where there might be an air leak causing the whistling noise. Better yet and very cheap; spread some Vaseline between the panels and windshield to try and find if this is where the leak might be. If the whistle noise doesn’t stop or become muted this isn’t where the leak is causing the noise.

Use a little common sense this isn’t rocket science.

I have lots of common sense... you need more then common sense though.

Lets just leave it at, we totally disagree.

You and anyone else foolish enough to take your recommendation, go for it, smear silicone grease (you linked to) or "vaseline" on your Freedom Panel seals or "windshield rubber".

When you get a chance, do a Google search in regard to the vaseline and how it will damage and degrade rubber seals. Silicone lubricant is not bad but there are far better alternatives.

It only degrades it if you leave it on for a length of time. How long does it take to apply anything that will temporarily seal any location? You take it for a ride; stop pull off the tops and wipe off the product. You could even bring some Simple Green to fully clean the seal and the tops. Common sense.

You’d be much better off using masking tape, cleaning that gunk out of the seams and cracks would be a major hassle.
Why is there a problem they should have fixed this from day one the panels can't be that much different from a JK

Yup, many ways to ascertain where air leaks are. No need to slather on vaseline and other damaging crapola that you will play hell trying to get off completely, if you even can get it all off.

Maybe the people that said they're going to wait till next year to get one so all the bugs will be worked out knew what they were saying. It might be a smart thing to do

Not everyone is having problems. I took a JLU for a test ride up to 80 mph without any increase in wind noise. My salesperson laughed when I told him about this thread and people trying to troubleshoot the issue. His response; that’s what factory warranties are for.

I test drove to at her know when noise I think it's just the individual issue. I'm more concerned about the Mopar left I was going to go that route but I'm not spending 1500 on the lift until they get it fixed and there's no old ones lying around in crates with bad Springs

That is exactly what I am thinking of doing. I have test drove 4 different JLU's so far and all had the annoying wind noise to some degree or other. My 1998 was my last hard top and it had zero wind noise.

And if some wise ass thinks I'm complaining, well I am. Tell you what, you pay the 45k for my next Jeep and I won't say a peep.

It's not a "Jeep Thing" it is poor design and/or assembly.
