I attempted to do that type of analysis last year and we never came up with a specific item that was causing delays.

It's a Just In Time (JIT) system, so your Jeep doesn't get built until you get to the front of the line and every single non-JB part happens to be available. What's holding up a specific combination of parts could vary hour by hour.

Note that we're not positive about the front of the line aspect of it. That's pretty much an assumption.
I see what you're getting at. It could be a combination due to how the vehicle is constructed which is causing a delay. As a theoretical example, ordering Safety plus Cold Weather results in a different wiring harness that has better availability compared to ordering Safety by itself.

I suppose that unless I'm ordering a bare-bones Wrangler, I should just get what I want. I'll just have to hope it's not manual transmissions they're short on.

Absolutely. It's a custom order, so you'll have to wait no matter what. Get exactly what you want or you'll very likely regret it.

Good Morning Everyone! First time poster here. First of all, this web site is outstanding, so much useful information. I'm not technically a Jeep guy yet but I just got a confirmation that the build is scheduled. I'm pleased since it's a two-door with both safety groups. Anyway, not getting too optimistic but it's progress.

Good morning, an update to my previous comment above. I was notified by my dealer that the Jeep is scheduled to be built February 15. Seems like the process is going much quicker than I thought.

Perhaps they are building a bunch of 2-doors at once.

Production of two door Wranglers does seem a bit bursty:

I just received some shocking news from my dealer just now; received my vin this past Wednesday and he just texted saying it’s scheduled for delivery 2/14!
Could this be possible?

I haven’t even bothered inputting the vin yet as I never dreamed it could be built much less delivered that quick.

Good afternoon, I received an email today stating that by build was "In Production" starting February 11th. Delivery is forecasted for March 29th. My question is when a vehicle starts the Build phase is the body already painted or are the bodies painted in advance? I watched the video on the Jeep build and it appears they buff any imperfections soon after it clears paint. I'm curious about the time it takes from the paint booth to the actual assembly. Any info is greatly appreciated.

For the 1k rebate. Do you guys know if we have to finance with the dealership to receive it?
I had to but I did have other discounts and I can refinance in 6 months. My brother and his wife bought a new Ram with the same 1K rebate but their bank's rate was low enough that the rebate would have cost them $50 over the 60 month loan.

Ah crap.. I guess I can just refinance after. Unless otherwise stated, we can refinance within that same month, right?

It was 6 months with my dealer but I had a %5 under invoice deal when I ordered it.
