But then I'd have to go to New Jersey and there's not enough soap southeast to wash that stank off me

Obviously you have never driven in Arkansas, especially Little Rock.
Well and now I'm glad I didn't drive NJ at the same time that @Wbino was out and about, cause it sounds like he's dangerous as fuck out there stopping like that.

Reading is not a strong point for you is it? "When stopped to merge" said I.
If you stop to merge, you're a danger to everyone on the road. Come to think of it, it was north eastern PA where the local idiots all stopped at the yield signs while merging onto the highway, even if there was nobody coming? I guess you need to be focused on your mirrors when you drive around more worried about what's behind you than what's in front of you or the direction you're supposed to be headed? If you merge at or above the speed of the flow of traffic you don't need to see 200' behind you staring in the mirror, a quick glance at the blind spot and you're merged.

You are the four year old in most of your posts.
Being bold enough to think having mirrors on your vehicle that you share on the road with others is somehow wrong shows true ignorance. Done with you.

I've never espoused the idea that having mirrors is wrong, just that you can be safe without them. There's an important distinction between those two viewpoints, and it's not even a subtle one.

BTW @Wbino, waiting for you to explain my financials to me. I'm really curious about why I can't afford to live in NJ.

If having a mirror on something, makes it safer, you go with safer..is that hard?
Anything else is just guys wanting to shout freedumb.

But a mirror doesn't make someone a safer driver. It's a tool they can use, should they be so inclined, but to think that the mere presence of a mirror makes things safer is naive at best. Is it so hard to admit that someone can be safe and situationally aware without a side mirror?

Reading comprehension is hard, some cops are shit period. Just like some people who drove professionally their entire careers...can't drive. You've now changed your tune on checking your blind spot, as earlier you said you should never take your eyes off the road in front of you, but you stop to merge? That's not how merging works. As I've said driving with mirrors doesn't make you a safe driver, just like driving without them doesn't make you unsafe. At least if you didn't have mirrors when I have to swerve around you while you're parked at the top of the on ramp you wouldn't piss yourself.

But not AS safe.
Boils down to family...you want family in and around cars with or without mirrors?
Being a grand dad and a former professional driver will make you safety coincidence more than most.

The level of safety of a person behind the wheel generally has less to do with the equipment on the vehicle but rather with how situationally aware they are. Some people need mirrors to be situationally aware and some do not.

Nice try with your appeal to emotion though, falling back on "THINK OF THE CHILDREN" when your argument doesn't hold water is just the cherry on top of this hypocrisy sundae.
