Remember to have such grace the next time the dealership screws up something because they didn’t know what they were doing.

I’m going to take my own advice and remove myself from this thread. It’s not productive in any way, and isn’t the purpose of this forum.
Bye Bye. You've already been here and argued.

You must have me confused with someone else. I've never had such problems with a dealership.

If an officer of the local town, sheriff, or state shows up on my bumper with lights on, sure, I'm uneasy, whether I know I'm speeding and taking a chance, or some other reason I'm ignorant of. I also get uneasy at the dentist and most any doctor I go to, because maybe the news is not good for me or loved one. What's your point? There are bad docs, nurses, fire fighters, soldiers, and law enforcement officers, but I don't turn around and reason to myself that they all must have weird personalities to go into their chosen professions. And there are DEFINITLEY times that you and I and anyone else of sound mind would be more than happy to see their appearance on the scene. If some jack-wagon shows up at my employer, a movie theater, or a restaurant I'm in and starts shooting it all up, I'm all too happy to see the officers showing up and taking control. At the scene of a car wreck where LEOs show up and work to make the scene safe and assist in recovery and care for victims, or are tasked to try to notify family (I may not want to see them coming to tell me, but appreciate that they do that extremely terrible job). LEO help people through, for some, the worst day of their lives, just like the others I mentioned. LEO are not the only professions mentioned that can make one wish they were NOT seeing a member of that profession in front of them (I lost 2 older friends to one surgeon at a local hospital on the same day several years back. One was an "iffy" success chance going into the heart surgery, but the other was a bad mistake by the surgeon that cost the lady pain and death. I would never entertain discussing health care with that dude.).
I didn't say they were all bad, but it's still weird to me to want to be a highway patrol. Sure there are times where they are assisting but even in a major car accident scene I wouldn't say I'm glad they are there. The EMT's absolutely, firemen with the jaws of life hell yes. Not saying they are useless, but it's not like I'm looking around going "I hope a cop shows up". If someone is shooting at me I'm shooting back, so probably not real relieved when they show up there either...

That's nice. I wouldn't ride a motorcycle without mirrors either.

I think you misunderstood the sentiment here. People who drive without mirrors aren't a menace to society, and it's doubtful that they'd kill everyone involved in a crash. Some of them just act like entitled little shits who'd rather be right than safer. If they think they can do their job better than law enforcement, then, they should. There are open positions all over the country. :D
I'll bite. We can disagree all day about the safety of side mirrors but I really think the safety aspect is down to drivers awareness. I can't tell you the number of times I have been run out of my lane while I am staring at the orange blindspot monitoring light on the other cars side mirrors. These features are helpful if used correctly but not required to safely operate a vehicle.

My sentiment about being a menace was hyperbole to react to some of the people extreme safety claims and calling people Karen's for driving without side mirrors. It's hard to indicate in text but that was my intent.

As for the legal aspect it varies state to state. As a person who, in a younger life, has been pulled over more times in a year than most people will be in their entire lives (I have the license suspension notice, hanging in my garage for being a "habitual violator of traffic laws") some of these people's reactions are insanity. When you are pulled over, you are polite, follow the officers instructions, take your warning or ticket, and continue you about you day. Court is where you argue and tell the officer he was wrong.

In my experience telling an officer he is wrong on the side of the road will results in 3 tickets in a single stop. Even though he was absolutely wrong about what he said, he didn't appreciate the sentiment and reacted in kind.

OP had a clever and cheap idea.

Perhaps because you don’t know what you’re gonna get ? The wife’s great uncle was LAPD during the Watts riots, his patrol car was attacked, family worried— Bill the neighborhood cop growing up baby sat us kids “I’m not gonna give you a ticket, but I might tell your father, so you better” take our beer when he caught us or took us home to face the consequences a couple times. When he retired he had us kids over for a party, took our keys, confiscated beer on ice.
Or the jerk-offs apparently “just following orders” harassing and writing as many tickets as possible to anyone riding a HD as previously mentioned ?
The problem is what you don’t know.

It's not productive, but it's entertaining at least. Just remember, these types of threads equate to trying to be logical while simultaneously banging your head against wall. :headbang:

On this forum, one persons logic is another persons crazy talk. The problem is everyone thinks they’re the logical one and everyone who disagrees is crazy. Well I’m off to take my meds.

😂. Look as this crazy guy here. Now I have to go completely off the walls to combat this comment. Only crazy people are truly right about anything. How does your forehead feel? :headbang:

I can't believe I missed the obvious argument staring right at me in your profile pic. As a self proclaimed Texan we are, by default, mortal enemies. 😂

That's reasonable. Yes, a car can be driven without mirrors, and mirrors are tools that only help create awareness and safety but they don't ensure safety. It's even legal to drive without side mirrors in Wisconsin, apparently. I maintain that doesn't mean it's a good idea, and who wants attention from police anyway?

And yes....using politeness and professionalism is the way to go during roadside conversations with officers. If there's a problem with the interaction, that's where court and a lawyer comes in, solve it professionally through the justice system. People with bad attitudes, defensiveness, lying, or excessive boot licking (hiding something?) seem to get shaken out during traffic stops and they wonder why...

Where the hell were you for comic relief like 5 pages ago. Very disappointed.
Pissing people off on here doesn't pay the bills. It's fun, but it's not helping the financials.
