can someone make a 4xe hybridization kit with the charging port panel replacement and badges? I think it will look great on a 2 door, I can paint my tow hooks.
I thought about painting my toe hooks to that blue when I first got my Wrangler, and doing the badging way back then, but my toe hooks came off pretty quick, soooo that went out the window.

Great idea though, I would highly recommend getting your badges and paneling through AliExpress. The part of the reason why I took me so long to get my badge here, was because I could not find a 4XE badge for anything less than $40. Like anything, with time, cost comes down.

That is true, you are not wrong.

Maybe my case is a special case scenario. It has been my goal since before I purchased my Wrangler to keep it for my entire life. And my goals for it even in the next 10 years will look nothing like it does right now. That includes truck bed paint coating on the exterior. That right there alone is a large reason why I don't really care about my paint or my vehicle's value. Their only thing I really care about the Wrangler is that I don't kill it. As long as it can still run and get me to and from where I need to go, I am more than willing to drill as many holes as I need to in it or want to I guess technically.

My last vehicle, the Jeep Patriot I had, I owned it to sell it, and it sucked. I wanted to do so many different things to that vehicle but I couldn't because I had to think about resale value in the end. That's why I had decided when I sold it, that my next vehicle was going to be the vehicle I would have for the rest of my life. Doesn't mean it's my last vehicle, but it does mean it's my baby, AKA my favorite child.

When the only downside is more things to do, which is the whole reason why you purchased the vehicle in the first place, then there are no downsides.

By the time I die, every single part of my Wrangler will no longer be original, right down to the motor and all the wiring, body panels included.
I love this line of thinking, much similar to mine ... Minus the holes ;)

I intend to keep my Jeep for as long as it makes sense. Even willing to swap the engine if and when that time comes.

Befitting of a Tred thread, I'm sure many of you have also heard the adage that goes something along the lines of:

Not driving your vehicle in order to retain resale value, is like not banging your lady to keep it tight for the next guy.

No?... Only me? Well now you've heard

So when are you going to mount a mini windmill on your roof to recharge your battery? :CWL:
What makes you think he’d mount a MINI windmill?

Just an observation. people buy a diesel for the longevity, but never keep them long.

Let's be honest here, that's true of most vehicles.

I work with a lot of guys who have older '80s and '90s Chevys and Rams, all diesels, and they all have 200,000 plus miles on each of them, though one guy only has 180,000. The longest lasting one is a guy with a '92 Ram 2500 with a big old cow catcher on the front, lifted and he has over 490,000 mi on his.

I think a lot of the issue with these modern diesels is the emission systems. You can get these more modern diesels to higher miles with the emission systems equipped, It just cost you a lot more in the long run. I think most people in general don't keep their vehicles very long, more so when keeping it long-term cost you twice as much.

Let's be honest here, an EcoDiesel without the emission system is going to last way longer than an EcoDiesel with the emission system. There's a reason I'm planning on swapping out to a Cummins 5.9 at some point in the future. ;)

I'm not sure exactly what a deleted EcoDiesel could get to, but I know most people with non-deleted ones are getting about 200,000-350,000 mi out of them before they're going to kaputz. There's a guy with a second gen EcoDiesel on the RAM forums who has a 450,000 mile deleted EcoDiesel, and it's still going strong with relatively minor upkeep comparatively.

So I guess my rebuttal is that's true of most vehicles, and especially when your diesel cost a boatload of money over a gaser just to get to the same end result.

But hey, at least my battery is not exploding!
