I appreciate the honest advice. I definitely need it to be safe as I do actually wheel my rig. I would love to see genright produce a 2door cage. I’ve be asking them for over a year with no luck.

I would be interested. This will present several issues, especially with the B and C pillars. The 2 door doesn't have the same material available for GenRight's cage around where the C-pillar mounts. Also, the B-pillar plate and mount would be different.

Honestly, it would serve you better to wait for their 2-door cage to come out. I can come up with solutions for all of the mis-matched issues you would have going from their 4 door cage to your 2 door. but...

It's not as simple as shortening the tubes plus some of the bends would be at different angles to truly be safe in a wreck or rollover.

Doing the work and making it work isn't a problem. It comes down to you accepting responsibility for the 4 door cage being modified for your purpose. I don't have the SW Software and DWG files to test anything. I could make the cage work though, for sure. Totally on you and a decision you would have to make and be comfortable with. If you're good with all that, then absolutely.
In your opinion do you feel that it would be less safe than factory? The factory cages are pretty cheap in my opinion.
Every time a 2 door anything comes up on Genright’s Tech Talk, Tony always says something to the effect of - “2 doors are dead, we won’t do anything for 2 doors, etc…” I don’t think the volume is there to justify it business-wise.
They already did the hard part on the four door. I don’t think it would take to much to come up with a 2door kit. But whatever I will have one made.

It would be infinitely better than stock, for sure. I’m down to do the work. You’d be wasting some money buying the 4 door kit with the extra material that won’t be needed. It would turn out super nice though. The labor for something like this is not cheap for anyone to do even with the cage coming pre-bent. If you’d like to explore this option, PM me. We can work through the details and determine if it’s a good path or not.

Many thanks for the compliment. I do appreciate it! It’s hard to be any other way. I really do love this sport/hobby.

No worries. If you click on my username on the left side of the posts, you'll see a yellow box that says "Start Conversation".

You're always welcome to text me, as well. 336-442-9463

I go up to Morgantown from time to time to help with the MedEvac helicopters stationed up there.

Latest pic showing the cage. Once I get around to the freedom tops, I'll post some more here. Otherwise, it's completely finished now. (I've placed this picture in a few different spots on here.)

Can you throw up some more pics of the aluminum top? I've been thinking of getting that myself.

So, do you have to cut off those 2 areas on the B-Pilar so it can bolt to the bracket? I can't find any actual instructions for that part.
