I have a 2 door that has about an 18 gallon tank. When I run the Fuel Range close to zero I have never put more than 15 or 16 gallons in. I figure when mine reads zero I still have about 2 gallons left, of course I have not pushed it to prove my theory.

the JLUs come with 21.5G tanks, so I would think if the readout said 20 miles left (which roughly is 1gal) and you put in 17.5ish gal, that's about on par. 18.5 gal to readout-empty, leaves 2gal, which is about 40 miles reserve
Most JLUs have a 21.5g tank, but not all:
  • 2.0L - 21.5g
  • 4xe - 17.2g
  • 3.6L - 21.5g
  • 392 - 21.5g
  • 3.0L - 18.3g
