Mopar Maximum Care covers a "massive" maximum of $35 per day and caps out at a total of $175 per occurrence. Don't the cheapest economy cars run at least 3x that?

So yes, you're correct. You're covered for a tiny fraction of the cost of a rental.
Right. I never said that the rental allowance was great, but it’s better than nothing. When my JL was in the shop during March and April, I was able to find rentals in the $35-$40 range fairly easily, and did so for several occurrences. I was able to make it work for my situation, but I wouldn’t say its optimal for someone who needs it as a DD.

…and to clarify, $35-$40 got me a compact or mid-size car. I drive a 2-door JL anyway, so that’s all I really needed. Obviously, if you need something bigger, the allowance just isn’t enough.

Yep, but that's only if you have MaxCare. By default you're stuck with whatever your dealer might provide.

By default you're stuck with this:

Rental Allowance is only for same day mechanical repair or maintenance service (excluding bodywork). Vehicles kept overnight are not eligible. Rental Allowance is not to exceed $40 ($60 for Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer).

As stated previously, I don’t have access to OP’s warranty. I know my MaxCare warranty allows for a loaner or rental vehicle, so you’ll have to ask him what page, paragraph, and line number addesses this in his warranty.

Furthermore…just because you posted some random excerpt of someone else’s warranty doesn’t mean that it is the same as OP’s. Again…I don’t understand why you are having a problem with his situation, but you are clearly not helping. We’d all be better off without the superfluous commentary.
That isn't "someone else's warranty", that is the factory warranty.

Again...we don't know what specific warranty OP is referring to. Could be the factory warranty as you stated, but could also be MOPAR MaxCare or even a third-party warranty. We don't know and shouldn't assume anything. All we do know, is that it has a provision for a loaner/rental vehicle and that's all that matters for this discussion.

You've seen the details of OP's warranty? By default we get a loaner that can't be kept overnight.

Not imagining...and btw none of us have seen the details of OP's warranty; just going by what he's able to tell us. Frankly, this conversation is unnecessarily exhausting, and apparently you guys have nothing better to do than criticize and mock him based on absolutely nothing. I have plenty else to do with my time, and more importantly, OP got the rental vehicle he deserved, so I'm gladly checking out at this time. Enjoy discussing ad nauseum amongst yourselves and happy Jeepin'.

Who's criticizing and mocking OP? We're simply criticizing and mocking you for making baseless claims.

In fifty years of driving, I have never been issued a loaner vehicle, keep five In the driveway all ready to go. The challenge is for all of us, the dealer and the buyer, everything is getting pretty high, the profit margins are narrower plus operating expenses are more, expect a continual squeeze. Just a lucky few have personal income keeping up.

The more that we pay for a product the greater the satisfactory expectation and the greater the sorrow when said vehicle fails.

This is my idea as well. I have multiple vehicles (mainly because I have a problem) in case one needs to be down for awhile. Not everyone is so lucky, though.

I'm going to jump in here because I'm not sure what my local dealer is doing different. They have some sort of deal with the Enterprise next door. For any recalls or warranty work Enterprise shuttle picks you up at the dealer and provides you with a loaner. According to that Enterprise location we were only allowed to choose a Stellantis product similar in size to our own vehicle otherwise it wouldn't be covered.

Wondering if the dealer is fronting the money and retroactively being reimbursed by corporate.

Also Canadian. I had a Focus RS that I got a loaner for anytime it was in. Jeep? I get an Uber ride home and picked up. I do have a mod friendly service advisor though and that's worth me getting a rental out of pocket. Lol.

This is indeed how it works. The idea for this is higher customer satisfaction surveys (CSI). We went hard on rentals for awhile where any vehicle under warranty got a rental no questions asked. Issues arose when we started having vehicles that actually weren't covered under warranty (such as rodent damage) and we had to eat the cost directly.

In most cases when the warranty claim is summited to Stellantis we submit the rental cost and they reimburse us. In some cases they'll decline to pay for a rental due to minor paperwork issues or part issues. We'd had cases where we get shipped a faulty component and they'll stop the allowable rental component 3 days after the faulty component arrived and then we have to fight them for the additional time waiting for the second part. Lots of little scenarios like that pop up frequently.

My dealer was paying out 10-20k a month in rental expenses, not including ones that would later be reimbursed. Sometimes someone is in a rental for 6 months while we wait for a part and we're paying that rental the entire time in hopes we're reimbursed at the end of it.
