Morning, I have a Sarah Unlimited, bough Pre-Owned. Picked it up in June 2025, problems with the steering stabilizer, (wobbling from July on when I first noticed it) and now the front shocks are leaking. Looking back on the service records, the REAR shocks were replaced on 7/23/24 I noticed, and inspected 11/19/24. So things could have happened back in November 2024 -June 2025 while Jeep was going on test drives and sitting on the lot. I understand things happen, but that’s a lot of time that things could have occurred and not looked at before vehicle was sold. Yes, these are all "wearable" items

What are your thoughts on this? Am I over reacting, i just think the deal would work with me more, than pushing me around

stealerships suck, most of the time. You now have an excuse to buy some good after market shocks. things are on sale now

The steering stabilizer usually takes the wobbles and bumps out of the steering so saying the stabilizer itself was wobbling is a symptom of another issue like ball joints or tie rod ends or any other front end components. The shocks leaking are evidence of that too or the previous owner aired the Jeep out a few times.

If you are somewhat handy you can check the front end components yourself, there are plenty of YouTube videos on how to at home. Go pick up a good set of after-market shocks, they will be 10x better than anything the dealer will offer as a replacement. Regardless do a little work yourself rather than relying on the dealer - you bought a Jeep.

Bilstein B8 5100 are around $100 per piece. These are pretty much install and forget... until you need longer shocks for a lift. Many have noted an improvement in handling after the switch to these shocks.

Do yourself a favor first, inspect the front steering and suspension. Don't let your daughter have to deal with death wobble, it is as scary as hell. A search around here will give you ideas as to what you need to look for, particularly with ball joints. Do it yourself, you can learn a lot and ensure your kin's in a safe ride.

If unsure, grab a video and/or photos to bring back with questions about something looking strange. There are a lot of very knowledgeable folks around here to assist.

Best of luck and I hope the little miss enjoys the ride!

As for the dealer covering it, why would they?

Yes, stock Sahara......yeah just thinking standard shocks, nothing crazy. You ask why for the dealer, well why not at least cover some of the costs, as mentioned rear shocks were replaced, also is that typical with about 40K miles, i have a ford F150 155K on it and no signs of shocks going bad. I guess its a JEEP thing

The dealer replaced my 2021 Rubicon shocks twice under warranty because they were leaking. The factory shocks suck. When they started leaking again I put on Rancho RS9000 adjustable shocks for about $125 each and ever looked back. You can buy quality shocks for a stock Jeep that aren't ridiculously expensive.

Good to know it was a pre-owned Jeep that I Purchased for my daughter in June. Sitting since November 2024 and just got it inspected and that's what the guy said
wouldn't think they would be under warranty still....
