New Jeep owner...
We had rain two days ago, and I came out to my passenger-side rubber mat FULL of water...
I have the half doors on, but there was no sign of water on either passenger-side doors.
I went out today to clean up the Jeep for a drive to the beach, and the passenger-side carpet was SOAKED front to back. It is the wettest under the front mat, and then get less wet as you go towards the back...
I'm calling the dealership tomorrow morning, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.
Clogged drip line? (I've experienced that with another SUV)
Thanks in advance for the help.

There are numerous reasons for leaks. However, given the location of where you’re seeing water these are the most common causes:

  1. Improperly installed door seal
  2. Improperly sealed body seam under removable fender cowls
Bring the vehicle in to the dealership and have it checked.

Thanks, David.
Calling tomorrow AM. I already texted my salesperson, and the service manager…
YES, I have their mobile numbers.

Hardtop or soft? If hardtop, have you ever taken the freedom panels off? If so, when replacing, the passenger side goes in first and then the driver’s side.

If you don’t follow this order, the top will still close but the seals won’t line up properly and you’ll end up with water draining inside the cabin instead of the outside.

It's a soft top, Kevin, with the factory half doors on... but, it's pretty apparent that the water didn't come through the window, or the door, because there was no water ANYWHERE except the floor.
When I called this morning to schedule an appointment they didn't seem to be shocked, or concerned. When I asked my salesperson if this was a usual occurrence he stated that he wasn't surprised...

As I mentioned, water on the floor is very common, it's just there are about six different common causes and tracking down which it is is the hard part as it's usually an extended event kind of thing, not a "spray a hose at it" or "take it through a car wash" kind of leak.

I see there’s a drop of water on the lip of the mat in the bottom right corner of the photo. To me, since that’s the highest point of the water, it’s coming from somewhere above that. There’s no way the water is travelling up from the bottom of the floor mat. If you opened the passenger door prior to taking this photo then my theory goes out the window as that could have been a fresh drop from opening the door. I’m not too experienced with half doors but given how modular they are it seems really hard to believe it’s not window/door related. I know my JK leaks a bit at the bottom of the door where the body/door start to run vertical, right around where the door strap is in your photo. I can usually see a residual trail of water, dust after it rains.

Thanks for answering.
There was NO residual water on the door, or on the top window... NOTHING...
I think that drop of water was from when I opened the door. The spot in question for is the drip, in a line, above the "P" on the mat... I bring it in tomorrow at 8:00am...

Check the rubber seal under the drain plug of your rubber floor mat. The rubber floor mat does not seal well at the draining hole.

If it is that remove the drain plug seal from the mat and put it in the drain plug hole in the floor.

I got the Wrangler back, and they said that they are pretty sure it’s the top, and they are going through the paperwork to replace it…
… I’m not so sure…. I’ve never seen water change direction in midair…

Hi, did your water leak ever get fixed? Our Jeep has half doors with the same problem any time it rains hard.

Thanks for bumping this tread. Mine also gets soaked carpet on both sides after rains with no apparent sign of where or how it is getting in. I finally gave up on the half doors and boxed them back up. Very disapointed because that was one of the main reason I ordered a new jeep. I didn't feel like letting the dealership take my jeep and experiment with it either. If I decide to keep the jeep I am planning on installing Bedrug, pulling the drain plugs and then when water gets in I won't be concerned?

one place to check which was my issue
was under the cowls on each side ..
the seams were not sealed very well , all i did was use silicone and go over all the seams no more water on the mats

the seams u se im pointing to , just go over with silicone - also in the photo u can see the drain tube from the top corner of the windshield . the tube falls right over / near these seams

the other issue you may have
theres a drain in the top corner of the windshield on both sides, if plugged up it will run down and soak the mat
