I would add for the record…it works!!!! A slight modification I did to this process was using a carrier bearing puller for Dana axles (loaned to me from a local shop). I very carefully removed the bearing and was able to reuse it. Took a lot more time but saved some money.
Keep an eye on that axle. Sometimes bearing pullers can damage the bearing in a way that's hard to see. Hopefully it works out for you.

If it starts making noise, it's likely the bearings.

So, I got a question regarding this mod. I thought I'd provide some more information here for all.

I was having the service locker light and I diagnosed it as the locker actuator coil. I was able to do this by first trying a Z-AUTOMOTIVE sensor bypass pigtail and it not solving the issue. Then I put 12v directly to my actuator coil. At first it worked, but then started getting intermittent. Eventually, it quit during testing with the cover off and jumpers providing power directly to the actuator coil.

I didn't provide links to all the parts, because the inflation changed a lot of the prices and now some of my sources are a poor choice. I would suggest google shopping the prices of the parts and then calling to see what the lead time is.

Also, I think I must not have been clear about the connector on the coil actuator. There is no "adapter". I cut the connector off the Bronco coil and put a jeep compatible connector on it. I have a number of them, because of the minimum order quantity. So, I'll be generous with sharing them for the first dozen or so members that are doing this. You'll need to be educated in the installation of electronic connectors to do it, and have a crimping tool for these style of pins.

If you need a connector and some pins, let me know. I have a lot of them.
So I need to replace my carrier on my 2022 and unfortunately the factory one isn’t available. I’m going to order one from eton but the actuator comes with just two bare wires. I would love to get the pins, Connectors and the wire boots/seals from you if you still have them available. Let me know, thanks

I do. With regard to the Eaton, you might double check, but I read somewhere that they won't warranty it if you hook it to the OEM Rubicon switch circuit. Still, you'll want a connector to go from the locker to the pass through connector on the housing. From there, you can buy a pigtail from somewhere I can't recall at the moment, that has the outer connector, then simply go to a 12v switched source.

Just to recap this for someone reading this later, as Dirt1 said, the diff carrier is not available from Jeep. However, the diff carrier is identical in the Bronco Raptor. Same subassembly Dana part number. I bought one from Dana for the Raptor as part of this learning exercise. I'm keeping it as a spare in case I blow the spider gears in the Jeep. It's the same carrier front or rear on the 18-23? Rubicon.

Just executed this repair to the Advantech m220 wide out of a 392 installed in a sahara. Lockers wired to Lasfit switches. Spacer plate and spacer flat are essential. Also mouser 571-1-1718645-1 connector and ferrules. Additional pictures to this great write up. Thank you community.
