Front drivers side started making a weird chirp noise, not squeal, not howl, not a grind but a quick chirp upon pressing the brake pedal.
Took to dealer—caliper piston was leaking a small amount of fluid. With 8400 miles on the odometer.
I heard GCs were doing this too—I have a rubicon which I understand has the larger brakes from the factory—I wonder if it is the same caliper?
So the caliper was replaced.
A few weeks later, again, chirp. No leaking this time. So pads and rotors replaced both sides at front. Worked.
Chirp has not returned, yet, but it’s only been a few days.
