Well it finally happened, trail damage. Running a forest service road and rounded a corner to see the road had disappeared due to heavy rain. The road dropped a good 3.5- 4 feet...but had some high spots to get wheels on, however the ruts were waist high on me 5'8"...then you dropped into a 20yd mud area to get through...to further complicate things a downed tree was sticking into the area I needed to place tires, the ends of the branches had been trimmed back. All was going well until the jeep slipped sideways and the tree rubbed across the back fender, leaving a groove, then caught on the gas cap ring, then caught the tail light housing and broke the plastic bracket. The upper branch left a white mark on the hard top. All in all it could have been worse...we made it through the mud slog! Here a few pics of the damage. Any idea on the part needed for the taillight?

The cost of wheeling is what I call it. You can always glue that back together. There is a plastic bolt that holds the rear tail light in place. When you open the tailgate, look behind the between the rear of the Jeep and the roll bar. There is a small cover about the size of the drain plugs in the floor. You can use a pry tool pull it off and use a 10mm socket to remove the bolt. Buy some quality glue and put it back together. Then reinstall the taillight.

Hell, I’ve done more damage then that buffing the last coat of wax…..LOL

A Jeep without beauty marks is like wearing a shirt with the price tag attached.

Both are easily repairable OP. If you were thinking about upgrading your taillights and fuel door, now’s a great time.

Tell your spouse Amazon accidentally sent you Jeep parts instead of their birthday gift but luckily they all fit……
