So, this just happened for the first time and I'm checking to see if anyone else has experienced it.
Jeep was only sitting for 1 hour after going somewhere, it would not unlock the doors for us or do a remote start, used the spare key on the fob to open door and alarm goes off, shut it off by pressing lock on fob, get in and hit start button and nothing, dash says to hold fob near start button and the push, it starts!
Get home and recheck it later and everything is fine again??
Anyone else have this happen??

If it was dead 2 hours ago would not it be dead now?
Never knew a battery that was not in a cold environment to go completely dead and then come back to life mysteriously.
Just saying;)

It was 16 degrees the other morning and Jeep started up fine. I had fob in coat pocket and left the jeep for a few minutes. Came back and Jeep is displaying Key Fob has left vehicle which was true...however the message did not self clear as normal. I drive to town and run in at store turning Jeep off. Came back out and no key fob found. So I press start button with fob and it starts up and there is no message about missing fob. Since then the Jeep and fo. Have been fine. I think the cold had something to do with it and it is likely a new fob battery will be needed soon. But yeah... dead (not really dead) then not dead.

Yep- just a couple days ago. “Fob not Detected” I tried pushing the start button with the fob, Nope. After several attempts and head scratching I pushed the unlock button on the fob and it started working 🤷🏼‍♂️ Anyway I bought some new batteries to replace the over 3 year old ones.

I just ordered 2 of them for the fobs.
...But dead then not dead??
Your either dead or you're not!
Like us, if we have a heart attack and temperedly die, we're not coming back until the first responder gives us a charge (jump)

Ever have a flashlight, remote, etc battery go dead and spin or bang them and get a little more ? I have 🤷🏼‍♂️ At least the possibility is eliminated.

heck, you can have a heart attack while trimming trees, think you pulled a muscle, quit and drink beer (maybe thinning your blood and saving your life) and go to work the next day. Before going to the Dr.

I just went thru this several weeks ago, for me all worked except remote start then I started getting fob not detected so replaced fob batteries and didn't fix the issue so had both batteries tested and both were bad so I have to replace both the main and aux battery on my Genesis system.

Seems these newer vehicles rely heavily on good batteries, they do more than just start your vehicle, also the RFID chips rely on good voltage in a new battery from what was explained to me by another member here.

Besides replacing my FOB batteries which I will now due anually since they are cheap I also picked up this tester for may new Full River batteries that I just replaced, it has a host host of testing ability so I can now monitor the health of them so I'm not left stranded somewhere.

After being on a camping trip where the fob started dying and generating the "press start button with fob" message, it really drove home that this pushbutton start / keyless entry stuff, although convenient, was a serious point of failure that could easily leave me stranded somewhere (and in a very stupid way -- "Jeep's fine but my car keys ran out of batteries -- wut?" 🙃 🙃 ).

So I've now added some spare 2450 cells and a T6 Torx driver (for the screw on the Threedom fobs) to my emergency supplies.

If you're stranded, use the physical metal key for the door, then put the FOB right up against the start button, so it's touching. (I forget which end, but it matters. You could look it up. Or just try both ends until it works) The start button can detect the RFID chip without a battery if it's close enough to touch.

Only trouble for me was, I started using a Threedom fob without having the formerly attached physical key still with me. So when the battery in the FOB died, I really was SOL, and had to have my wife drive over with the spare key. I don't do that anymore.

Yeah I know about that procedure but I assumed it relied on a bit of residual juice still being left in the battery which could eventually give out as well. But if it's purely passive sensing that's definitely more foolproof.

Yep similar to a credit card that you can tap to pay. The credit card doesn't have a battery but the equipment looking for the signal (I e. the Jeep) has to have power.
