I wish, got that off the internet, I do have a four post backyard buddy, that works well, but disadvantage of wheels on ramps

That's still a pretty sweet setup...and a good looking 2-door as well!

Yep, like I said " you lucky dog! " ?

What side step/rock rails are those? They sure do look nice.

Absolutely agree on the jack stands and chocks. I can't use the front diff because it is too far off center for a balanced lift of the entire front end. …
I changed wheels/tires yesterday with a floor jack on the front diff housing-just had to jack it up higher so that both tires were off the floor.
Yes it was uneven but the jackstands fit.
Wasn’t nearly as twisted as most of the jeeps shown in the off-road photos on this site.

Thanks for providing the link. I agree that jacking at the frame is perhaps the best option of all, given it's strength. Reason I asked for a better view of the front contact points, is because the one at the front passenger side is partially covered by a gapped skid plate that would bend easily (see photo below). This leaves only 2" of frame to contact with the jack pad, but perhaps that's enough.

While reading through everyone's great responses, I realized that my question is better addressed as, "where would you jack if you intended to place jack stands at the axle ends, as directed in the owner's manual?"

After all, you obviously can't jack the vehicle up in the same spots where you intend to place jack stands. Elementary for sure, but clearly there are many opinions on the subject and I appreciate the responses....all good!

Even stock, the frame is really high to start with and you have to overcome the suspension droop. On our Jeep, it would be damn near impossible.

To work on the suspension, you need sizable jack stands to reach the frame with the tires off, would recommend at least 6 tons. But you’ll still want to Jack from the axles.

I would jack the frame, or as close to the factory recommended axle tube lift point as possible, and still be able to get a support stand in place.

Agree. Even though jacking at the front diff is probably OK, I still think the frame is a better option.

Yeah, the front axle is annoying to jack up.

I use a floor jack to jack up each side individually, placing the contact pad under the axle tube where the LCA brackets are. I can get a corner of the pad fully under the tube this way, between the LCA bracket edges. I then place a jack stand under the corresponding frame rail.

I've only got 33's with a minor lift (JLURD takeoff on my 3.6L V6 Sahara). My jack has just enough reach to get the jack stands to 2 clicks.
