Hello everyone,

New user here, having a hard time rectifying something stupid I did a few months ago.

I have a 2024 Sport S 6 speed and I was replacing all the speakers and adding a under seat sub. Rather than looking up how Wranglers commonly route a power cable through the firewall I did what I've done on over a dozen other vehicles - poke a hole through the largest grommet and see where it ends up.

In this case it was a unexpected two part grommet with exposed wires inside, I badly misjudged where the wires actually were inside and managed to severe at least two wires and damage the insulation on others.

Jeep Wrangler JL Firewall Wiring Harness Question 20250220_183314-

Jeep instantly went into limp mode and it lit up like a Christmas tree. I removed the fuse box and painstakingly (due to location) soldered and shrinked the two severed cables I found. Soaked the rest in liquid electrical tape. Fixed all the codes.

Occasionally I feel as if under light throttle there is a tiny hiccup in power delivery. It's very minor and may be normal behavior as this Jeep is new to me but I always knew I was going to have to replace this harness for peace of mind.

My first problem is finding this specific part number. There are many named harnesses and I can't seem to find this one from sites with service diagrams. (Side note, is there a good source for a 2024 service manual?)

My second problem is just how bad this harness will be. I am reasonably handy and have worked on all my cars in the past, but the idea of any wiring harness fills me with dread.

Damn, sorry dude.

I use alldata, but I checked and they don't have the 24 specific manual yet. Unfortunately with the dash update I'd expect a couple impactful changes, but you may be okay using an earlier one for overall reference.

I'm sure that's a big boy and won't be fun.

I believe thats the dash harness. It goes from front driver fender, across the engine bay dash panel, splits to front passenger fender and passes the dash under glove box. It would not be fun to replace.

Oh God, I've literally had nightmares about this happening to me. I'm sorry OP.

Maybe @AllMoparParts.com can chime in

I gotta say, I know this is an old post but man you saved me. I did the same exact thing and was afraid I was going to have to tow her into the shop for repair. Slow and smooth for the win. Took my time and tore it down, then took my time soldering the two wires I cut. Thanks for the help!
